HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I host and travel when I can :).

I've been lucky to be around since the beginning of couchsurfing and it's been life changing.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've met very interesting and kind hearted people through Couchsurfing (cs). I wish them well: a chess master, a lifestyle magazine columnist, a dance instructor, an AI ethicist. I've met women who support women and I've met respectful men. I have not yet had a negative experience, but I also connect with the host, do my homework, and surf with a safety plan/back up plan. I encourage all surfers to safely support their own travel like that.

Hosting and traveling with cs helped me get into grad school too, because it meant I could travel to far away and pricey conferences. Years later, a most wonderful cs host made it possible for my friend and I to travel to the opening of my favorite Broadway show and have that adventure together before traveling on to meet family.

Many lovely people have intersected my life through cs; its been a privilege to travel and to meet you. Thank you, my friends, for opening my world, my pallette, and my perspective. I look forward to hosting and traveling again.
