About Me

CURRENT MISSION

dissertation complete! reconnecting w friends and buddies now that i'm out of ithaca!

ABOUT ME

I come from a long line of migrants...we're even know as the "guest people" in Chinese. I was born in Hong Kong, and moved to the East Coast of the US when I was just learning how to speak. I've spent a great deal of time in the US, China, and Hong Kong. I've always wanted to roam the planet...usually be means of hosteling. The connections made weren't that great, so I hope to meet people on a more genuine level through CS.

PHILOSOPHY

I'm gonna live to 100, might as well have fun and learn as many cool things as I can. I'd like to think of age as a count-down...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I guess I'm still trying to figure out how to navigate the site and trying to surf more couches. Been traveling a bit, and now I look forward to rejoining the local CS community to make some new friends in A2 (and now Boston). Still super excited about visiting other localities and meeting kindred spirits on the map.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have several friends who've surfed, and we as a house have hosted. I've surfed in Atlanta and Chicago. Both times were fabulous! Made fabulous friends in CS Ann Arbor that I now travel and hand out with in Boston too!

Interests

I love movies, national geographic, research weird trips, eating exotic foods, checking out local arts, music, and culture scenes, learning languages (poorly), cooking and eating, taking photos of EVERYTHING and putting them on facebook, playing with animals, rescuing dying and neglected plants, going on long walks to get lost, going to the beach regardless of the weather, eating street food, learning how to give mind-numbing massages...mostly to get rid of my own migraines.

Music, Movies, and Books

We're all here for a reason...to enjoy life as much as we can. If something make you happy, do it. Why let yourself be miserable. There is always a happier thought to focus on.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

(1) Staring at the shooting stars at 4 AM waiting to climb to base-camp of a glacier at Karakul Lake in China. It was so humbling and awe-inspiring to *feel* that I am part of such a big universe.

(2) Rented a car and drove around the island of Oahu near sunset, and watched a misty valley turn yellow, orange, then pink as the sun went down. My heaven.

Teach, Learn, Share

The hardest lesson is to learn to accept yourself for who you really are. So, love and understand yourself first. You are already perfect and worthy of love and attention and all the wonderful things that you desire. If you remember this, you won't need affirmation from anyone else! Self-soothing, learn it.

Oh...always pack a toothbrush and a packet of tissues cause you never know when you're gonna need them...

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can cook really well. And tell crummy jokes with bad timing. And I'm great with Games of Thrones and Doctor Who trivia! I also teach classes at the university level, so I can talk you to sleep !
