ABOUT ME

Hey :)

I'm a laid back friendly kind of guy from London. For the last three years I've been working online and travelling around the world. I spent a year in South America, 8 months in China and the last year slowly working my way down South East Asia.

PHILOSOPHY

Don't die wondering!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've been a member of CS for a couple of years, I've been traveling most of that time so haven't hosted many people - but during carnaval in Brazil did (along with my flat mates) host the lovely AfroSurfer for a few days and put a couple of Coushsurfers up in Shanghai. Beyond sleeping on sofas I have met lots of great people in London and all over the world through this brilliant social network.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

All good... met many interesting people from all sorts of places and had nothing but good experiences.

Interests

Love music, especially dance/rave music and have spent much of the last 15 years dancing and playing records in dark rooms. I'm not a musical snob though and my tastes are getting more eclectic the older I get and the more of the world I see.

I'm also massively into art & design and sport. I trained as a graphic designer at Uni and it has been my main profession for the last 10 years. I'm always keen to meet other designers and creative types as I travel and I'm always up for a game of football!

Music, Movies, and Books

I love books, films and music but am rubbish at remembering names... here’s what I’ve managed to extract from the jumbled archives of my mind:

Movies: City Of God, Let The Right One In, Avatar, The Other Guys, Into The Wild, Gladiator, Anchorman, Babel, The Assassination of Jesse James By The Coward Robert Ford, Airplane, Kiterunners, The Beach, The Wackness, Sexy Beast, The Bourne Trilogy, Brokeback Mountain, Nil By Mouth, Zoolander, ID, Braveheart, Kill Bill, Pulp Fiction, Sin City, The Goonies, Karate Kid, Rocky, Platoon, Apocalypse Now, Saving Private Ryan, Forest Gump, Castaway, Laurence of Arabia, The A-Team...

Music: Old hardcore (90-95), jungle(93-96), acid house, house, techno, drum and bass, electro, Arctic Monkeys, Massive Attack, Prodigy, Diplo, Underworld, Dizzy Rascal, The Specials, Fairport Convention, Hot Chip, Rebel MC, Dr Dre, Eminem, Eric Clapton, Run DMC, Beastie Boys, Naughty By Nature, 2Pac, Biggie Smalls, Wu Tang, A Tribe Called Quest, The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Major Lazer, Nirvana, Rage Against The Machine, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Blur, Danger Mouse, Gorillaz...

Books: Restless, Any Human Heart, Beautiful, 45 - Bill Drummond, Dissolution, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, The Beach, Trainspotting, Snowman, England Away, Len Deighton's 'Bernie Samson' books (Hook, Line & Sinker - Game, Set & Match - and the other three!), The God Delusion, Making Time...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The Great Wall of China at Gei Beku (spelled horribly wrong I think). Ha Long Bay. Rush hour in Shanghai. Ilha Grande near Rio in Brazil - one of the most beautiful, laid back places on the planet. Iguazu Falls. Carnaval in Salvador, Brazil... mental! Macchu Piccu - old. Rio de Janiero. The jeep tour from San Pedro de Atacama to Uyuni - like visiting another planet (with a serious lack of oxygen). La Bonbonera in full flow. Tottenham coming from behind to beat Arsenal 3-2 at the Emriates.
