About Me

Hi, I'm a student of sustainability in various contexts. At the moment I'm travelling around while writing my master thesis on the topic of wilderness education. I'm also an aspiring musician - I sing, play the guitar and the fiddle and write my own songs.

I'm travelling to explore new places, cultures and perspectives on the world and enjoy deep conversations and controversial debates - they're the best way to expand your horizon.

*for some reason the app isn't letting me upload more pictures but that one is fairly up to date*

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm travelling a lot at the moment and am interested in meeting locals wherever I stay to gain deeper insights into the culture of the places I visit. As soon as I have a place of my own I'll be happy to host as well.

Interests

I enjoy being creative - mostly through music but also enjoy trying out different kinds of crafts and art. I feel most at home in nature and love spending time outside, while also being interested in social dynamics and cultures of different places, and like to explore cities as well. I'm always up for an exchange on different perspectives and philosophies about the world with the goal of learning from each other.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love Irish Folk but really my music taste is a big mix of different artists. The best book I've read recently is Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Kimmerer. I also really enjoyed the Kingkiller Chronicles.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Can't pick only one
- seeing the Northern lights in Iceland and Canada
- busking in the streets of Hanoi
- wild camping with my hammock in the hills of Dalat
- hiking in a rainforest in Malaysia after dark surrounded by frogs that sound like humans making frog sounds
- attending a Snaw-naw-as welcome ceremony
- getting a spontaneous Erhu lesson from a musician in a park in San Francisco
... and many more

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you German, some basic guitar and violin, basic outdoor survival skills and useful knots. I love to dance and am always happy to learn new styles. I'm interested in your experiences where you live and where you've traveled.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can help you with German or English, I'll gladly share stories from my travels or entertain you with a bit of music if I have an instrument with me. I'd be more than happy to cook and help out around the house while staying with you.
