I am a reasearcher in Political Ecology and I work with environmental conflicts involving biodiversity conservation and local populations. I love to travel and have been to many places here in Brazil, working or just wondering around our vast country. I lived in Rome for a year, trying to reach the italian roots of my father's family. I love being outdoors and try to enjoy the most possible my city, which combines the fuzz of a big metropolis with the calm and beauty of the rain forest. I share my home with my boyfriend, and we both work at home. I have many friends and really like to invite them over for small gatherings and barbecues. I am politically active, and always trying to do what I can to reinforce strugles that help us to construct a more diverse and susteinable world.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am on couch surfing because I love to travel and to meet new people. I think it is a beautiful iniciative to have this possibilitie of hosting and being hosted, it's the kind of solidarity i believe in: the one that is based in a mutual growth.

Interests

I have many interests but the main ones are politics, philosophy, social sciences, traditional cultures, cinema and theatre. I love ricking and camping as well. Oh, and i love to cook! Recently i have been trying to eat more healthily so i am learning new recipes. The problem with cows over the world and here in Brazil is making me reduce drastically meat and dary. So i think you could call me a vegan/vegetarian simpatizer.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love Brazilian music, but i like rock and roll as well. I like to hear many different bands and singers from Elis Regina and Gilberto Gil to Led Zeppelin and rage against the machine. I like to dance to trip hop, trap music, dub and reggae.

I really like movies, no matter if they are art movies or mainstream, they just have to be good. I like directors like Sergio Leone, Ettore Scola, Fellini, Scorcese, and many others.

My favorite literature authors are Marguerite Duras and Guimarães Rosa, I have red much more Brazilian literature than European or American literature. My two favorite italian authors are Dario fo and Italo Calvino.
My favorite authors in philosophy are Nietzsche, Foucault and Marx. These days a have been reading more of the feminist studies like Donna Haraway.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have travelled trough eight indigenous comunities in northeastern Brazil to make a cartography about their culture and ways of life.
