About Me

New experiences junkie.

After watching the movie "Yes man" I started to say 'yes' to every opportunity that turned up. Since then my life has been full of challenges, surprises, ups and downs yet I have experienced more than I ever expected.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music. Since I play myself and have a slight background in the music education I can find something to love in every style, genre, type and century. And I still keep educated so you might see me singing along today's pop hits yet my ultimate favourite must be variations about rock music.

Movies. I enjoy documentaries about the world and travelling like Samsara, Baraka, Before the Flood. And on the other hand, I love comedy so I am into TV series such as Shameless, The Big Bang Theory, Modern Family.

Books. I enjoyed Johann Wolfgang von Goethe's Faust, Mikhail Bulgakov's Master and Margarita.
"Who moved my Cheese" by Spencer Johnson and "The Book of Mistakes" by Skip Prichard are my latest favourites.
A great one I would suggest to travellers that like to explore rather than follow guidelines is quoted below:
"Travellers know how to appreciate home, however unimpressive it may be. They have been in dusty towns, on rocky roads and in salty waters. They know why and how to smile because of the little things in life. They know how lucky you are for even being able to travel. And they have seen the world from a different perspective, from an unusual angle."
/Gunnar Garfors: 198 - How I Ran Out of Countries/

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My highlight of the life (so far) would be bungee-jumping experience, that is the craziest one.
I also tried skydiving, did two jumps in one day which was pretty awesome!

But I also would point out Hitchhiking trip Milano-Venice-Ljubljana-Zagreb; surfing lesson in the Atlantic Ocean, Portugal; jumping off the ship into Bosphorous waters, Istanbul, Turkey; down-hill cycling in The Alps (Switzerland); seeing Niagara Falls (Canada) and the Great Wall of China live.

I believe that BEST IS YET TO COME and the next big WOW thing is just around the corner.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am a fast learner so you would not have any problem leaving me with your oven or tv system ;D but seriously, I enjoy learning things outside my field of study and one can never be over-educated.

I can teach and share completely useless phrases in the Latvian language. I would be happy to just share life lessons/stories/experiences. I do appreciate a good joke and will laugh at yours even if they are not that great.. :D
