Overview
About Me
Willing to face new challenges and improve myself continually.
A geography student through and through - can talk about places, cultures, people, languages for hours.
Right now working as a customer support specialist - and loving it!
I like to call myself a bibliophile since books are one of the many things I am passionate about.
My motto is:
"Move and the way will open." Zen Proverb
And, of course... good for all to know:
“When a man loves cats, I am his friend and comrade, without further introduction.”
(Mark Twain.)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am looking for opportunities to visit new places and meet new people.
I prefer to be a traveler rather than a tourist - for me the most important is to get the feel of the place, which for a huge part resides in the people living there.

Music, Movies, and Books
My all-time favorite books might be "The Count of Monte Christo" by A. Dumas and "The Name of the Wind" by P. Rothfuss.
In regards to music, I'm versatile; love some classics (to play and to listen!), some dream pop, some modern rock, even some rap... depends on the mood.
Spotify told me that in 2019 my favorite band was Los Hermanos -- I love Brazilian music.
Series: "Friends", "HIMYM", "Stranger Things", "Gilmore Girls", "Suits", "Sherlock Holmes"...
Movies: all the Christopher Nolan movies, recently watching a lot of Quentin Tarantino, too.
I cannot name a more exciting experience than watching a movie in the original language (with subtitles if needed).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Maybe not that original, but - Erasmus in Prague!
Also - I have worked as a taxi driver several times in my life.
Stayed at a Workaway this summer!

Stories and time!
What I Can Share with Hosts
Always up for a language exchange! :)
Although I come from a rather small country (Latvia), I'd be ready to tell you as much as I can about my land and language that is spoken just by ~2 million people.
Conversing in English is always a good option, too.
Let me bake some potato pancakes for you!
We Latvians always joke that there is no other food as important to us as potatoes. :)
If you need someone to drive you around with the car, just ask me - I love driving.
