Much younger than my birth certificate claims I am. lol I attended college in the 80's, retired from the Army National Guard in the 90's, then raised a daughter on my own. Now re-married and living on a beautiful private lake in Southern Indiana.

I am seeking a LONG TERM volunteer to help around the house in exchange for room and board. Many of you have already purged of unneeded things and I ask your help in doing the same.

I don’t want to leave my lovely spot on the lake but we probably should go. At this time, it looks like we will be moving to a nearby eco-village to share the land and gardens with friends. Once the move is made, we will be hosting folks who wish to help out there or learn about sustainable farming, solar power and living off the grid. But I need help getting there please!

There are awesome colleges nearby (IU, Ivy Tech) if you are a student (or want to be) and don't wish to be in a dorm or pay the high rents in town but would still have the time to help out.

If you love nature, prefer a laid back and quiet space, wish to be of service to others and learn about sustainability and gardening, you will fit in perfectly! Must have your own vehicle and be unafraid of rural roads. Should be content on your own and able to entertain yourself in the evenings.

Movies: The Fifth Element, Dracula, Sweeney Todd, Across the Universe, Rent, The Breakfast Club, The Lost Boys, Fast and Furious, anything by Hitchcock, old black and white films, foreign films - especially French ones... and that's all I can think of right now. lol

Music: I mostly listen to classic rock and alt rock but will always be a Punk Rocker at heart. I will listen just about everything except contemporary country music, but love older country music, blue grass and folk music!

I can share info of essential oils, herbal remedies, supplements, homeopathic remedies, etc. I can teach you how to make a bakery worthy cake and decorate it too. I have collected antiques/vintage my entire life and love sharing info on that topic. I love watching a great film and discussing it over a beer. I have knowledge of gemstones, geology and fossil collecting. Other interests are birdwatching, genealogy and photographing headstones for FindAGrave. Let’s pack a picnic lunch, find some old cemeteries and wile away an afternoon chasing the ghosts of our ancestors!

There is a parade or festival in the smaller surrounding towns just about every week PLUS all the events and festivals held by the local camps. Bloomington is only 40 minutes aways and it’s 1 hour to Louisville, 1.5 hours to Indy, and 4 hours to Chicago.

A comforting and quiet place to spend a bit of time, surrounded by forests on all sides and full of wildlife and all the beautiful things Nature has to offer.

Rooms available -
-A private bedroom big enough for two, with access to the screened porch, view of the lake, and a full sized bed.
-A small room on the lower level, just right for one person.

The laundry, main bath, kitchen, living room are on the upper floor and are shared. You will have access to the land line phone for domestic calls and satellite tv.

I will provide organic toothpaste, organic soap, organic shampoo / body wash, organic sunscreen and bug spray - some of which we will make ourselves. There are air purifiers on each floor and essential oil diffusers for each room. Oh yeah… there is a chemical free hot tub on the screened porch. :-)
