About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To show everyone that Life is Beautiful. It's not just a depressing movie. It's real.

ABOUT ME

I just just just finished my degree in Linguistics & Music at the University of California, Davis. I love to play & listen to music (I sing & play guitar, although neither of them very well) & love to hang out with chill, awesome people. I'm always down for a conversation, really about anything, but music & language really get me (hence the topics of study).

PHILOSOPHY

I think that the best thing to remember, when it comes to it, is that everyone is doing the very best that they can. You can't fault them for that. People are doing the best by themselves that they possibly can; even if it's not that great, they are trying.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have traveled some within the couchsurfing network, & am very much excited to open my couch up also. Come stay with me if anyone is in Davis!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have been in Amsterdam for a concert, as well as in Nantes, which was very last minute--but CS came through for me.

Interests

I love music. Did I mention that? All types, all styles, all beats, all generations. I mean it. I also like playing with others, although I'm new to it.
I really like to dance, & to meet people (is that classified as an interest?) as well as to talk philosophy/literature & languages.
Travelling is a big one here (not surprising, is it?) & also eating good food. I'll go a long way for cheap, good food.

Music, Movies, and Books

There are many too many to list here. I like Kurt Vonnegut (Cat's Cradle, oh) & Jane Austen & Carlos Castaneda, & listen to Animal Collective, A Tribe Called Quest, MGMT, The Knife, The Shins, Arcade Fire, Bob Dylan, Gillian Welch, Iron & Wine, P-Funk, Stravinsky, Gravy Train!!!, Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, Dirty Projectors, T. Rex &c, &c.
My favorite movie ever is The Seventh Seal (directed by Ingmar Bergman).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have seen the sun rise.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know about linguistics & music theory, & have an extensive knowledge about the independent music scene in the US. Woohoo, right? Also I can make some mean pancakes in the morning.
I also think that everyone has something to share. I'll listen to it, whatever it is.

I want someone to teach me how to play a Beatles song. On any instrument.
