ABOUT ME

I love travelling and meeting new people. I'm always up for an adventure, and I love trying new foods. I will want to try anything delicious! I'm also a big walker. I will walk and walk, just to explore a new place. Sometimes I get lost, sometimes I get exhausted in a place far away from my bed, but I think it's all worth it in the end.

PHILOSOPHY

Trust is the first step that open all kinds of doors in your life.

Interests

I love reading whether it's books, the newspapers, or other fun things that my friends send me. I'm also always on the lookout for another place to travel to.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Recently, I took a trip to Indonesia where I went to the island of Java. I visited the main sites, hung out with my Indonesian friends who graciously flew down from Jakarta to meet me. After a few days, they had to go back to work, so I set out on my own. I went to visit the Ijen Crater which is a pretty remote area in the Eastern part of Java. Ijen is a beautiful volcano with misting sulphuric fumes at the top, and as a bonus, you climb into it's crater where there is a beautiful lake. However, at the bottom of the crater, there is also a sulfur mine. The sulfur is a bright yellow color, similar to a highlighter yellow. The men mine the sulfur and carry it out of the crater and down the mountain a few times a day. Each of their loads were 70-90kg, and they are paid about 10 US cents per kilo. They were very kind and kept up good spirits. Ijen was one of the most awestrucking places for me, not just because of the physical beauty of the landscape, but also by the harsh realities of life as a native Indonesian in that area. Here unlike most other tourist attractions, the element of poverty and local life was not taken out of that environment, and it made you realize how lucky you really are.
