Overview
About Me
I'm Lakshmi, 32, a sustainability researcher and advisor; my partner Ramesh, 42, is a writer. I've been to 17 countries, and Ramesh to 27. Our travel style is budget backpacking, bike rides, road trips, long train journeys, and spontaneous unplanned outings.
We're laid back and easygoing, but also a bit nerdy and serious. Please look elsewhere if you're interested in nightlife, loud fun, and all things "cool"; that's not us. Our things are nature, animals, cinema, art, and talking about everything under the sun.
We're both vegetarian and are striving to become more sustainable in our lifestyles. To that end, it obviously helps to live in one of the most sustainable cities on the planet, which we've come to appreciate more over the few years we've been here. It's home now, which we'd be happy to share with you.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
We've traveled on student budgets for years and understand how challenging (but also fun and adventurous) it can be. Having finally moved to a slightly larger apartment, we now have (a bit of) space to offer to fellow CouchSurfers. We are interested in meeting people from around the globe and sharing our lives with them. Breaking away from the usual tourist circuit, seeing places the way locals do, finding the least expensive experiences, discovering pretty nooks and crannies, and just walking around soaking it all in; that's our thing. If that sounds like you too, drop us a line!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Thrown ourselves into grade 5 rapids in the Nile in Uganda (we both didn't know how to swim!). Floated downriver using just our life jackets.
Teach, Learn, Share
We love hearing about people's personal journeys and stories about conquering social, cultural and political difficulties.
We like to learn more about interesting but little-known/off-the-beaten-path kind of places and unique experiences from around the world.
And we like learning more about the ways in which we can reduce our footprint on the planet, especially through "green" house designs and other innovations in sustainable living.
Also, we like experiments with cooking :)
What I Can Share with Hosts
A home away from home, lots of travel stories and experiences, and advice on making the most of your stay in Copenhagen and Denmark.
PLEASE NOTE: We expect our guests to fix their meals themselves. We might ask you to join us for a meal IF we're up for it, but please do not depend on us for your food needs. The same goes for showing you around the city too. In short, we prefer guests who are independent and can take care of themselves with minimal support or company.
