ABOUT ME
"Two roads diverged in a wood, and I...
I took the one less traveled by.
And that has made all the difference" - Robert Frost
You will never be completely at home again, because part of your heart will always be elsewhere. That is the price you pay for the richness of loving and knowing people in more than one place - Miriam Adeney
One of the things you will get told about is culture shock. The sense of disorientation at being immersed in a new culture. What you often won't be told about is that it can be worse coming back home after an intense experience overseas. Family and friends are pleased to see you again, but you may be frustrated at being unable to communicate the things you saw and learned.
He has had a chance to miss and be missed. Because of this he also knows a thing or two about goodbyes. He knows the overwhelming uncertainty of leaving the comforts of home, the indefinite see-you-laters at the departure gates and yet he fearlessly goes into the unknown because he knows the feeling of return. And that the I've-missed-you-hug is the best type of hug in the whole world. He also knows that goodbyes are just prolonged see-you-laters and that 'hello' is only as far away as the nearest internet cafe.
PHILOSOPHY
What if money didn't matter?
What if money was no object?
What makes you rich?
How do you like to spend your life?
What sort of situation would you like?
What the hell would you really enjoy spend in your life?
Forget the money!
If you say that getting the money is the most important thing, you will spend your life completely wasting your time. YouâÃâ¬Ãâ¢ll be doing things you donâÃâ¬Ãâ¢t like doing in order to go on living that is to go on doing things you donâÃâ¬Ãâ¢t like doingâÃâ¬Ã¦ which is stupid!
Better have a short life that is full of what you like doing, that a long life spent in a miserable way.
And after all, if you do really like what you are doing, it doesnâÃâ¬Ãâ¢t really matter what it is.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
At the moment I cannot host as I moved years ago from Milan and I don't have any tiny space in the several places I'm renting. But I'm available for drinks and meeting around :)

I started hosting few people in Milan and then I have had such amazing experiences travelling by CS, been hosted and participated to CS meetings in several cities. Made many friends, keeping in touch with them and catching up again wherever and whenever possible!

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Drum&Bass, techno, trance and electronic music in general + rock.
Books: I can get lost in libraries! :)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One of the most amazing trips I've done is the one to Iraq. I prefer travel on the less touristy paths. I'm a neophiliac, a lover of the new things and experiences.
But anyway, in any place, what makes the difference is: PEOPLE!
Teach, Learn, Share
A hotel? Why? What's the experience that you gain from that?
I love CS because you can live a real experience.
Get deep as much as you can into the culture you're visiting and make FRIENDS! CS allows us to do this.
It's like Saint Augustine said
"The world is a book, and those who do not travel [PROPERLY I'd add] read only one page"
