Hello there! ✨ I'm Laurie.

Born in Hamburg, I am a true Hamburger at heart. I've always been enamored with my city's vibrant diversity. While our weather might give you a run for your money, it never fails to be a conversation starter among us locals. ☔

Now, diving into the challenge of self-description:
At my core, I'm playful, genuine, and perpetually curious. My spontaneous nature often shines through, and trust me, I can't lie to save my life! 😅 I have a penchant for black humor, the thrill of roller coasters, and the joy of dressing up. And oh, the heartbreak I feel when it's time to leave Disneyland is unparalleled! 🎢 Professionally, I'm immersed in the world of IT Consulting. But once off the clock, you'll find me orchestrating events for international groups, indulging in sports, or on a quest for delectable food. 🍔

Ever heard the phrase "Why not now?" I live by it! I firmly believe that to truly understand if something's not for you, you've got to give it a shot first. Embracing this philosophy, I've dabbled in various hobbies, from teaching scuba diving and dancing, to setting up a party venue with friends. In any leftover free time, I'm either attending meetups or organizing my own events. 🎉 The wanderlust in me also fuels my desire to explore the world and experience life in diverse settings. My adventures have taken me to Peru and Mexico, where I've had the privilege to live.

My tryst with Couchsurfing began in 2012 when I sought an international community. I soon became a regular at numerous events in Hamburg. Craving authentic local experiences beyond just backpacking, I embarked on my first CS adventure in 2014 in Izmir, as part of my No-Bag-Europe-Trip. Along with a friend, we flew to Antalya and ventured on a 3-week odyssey with no luggage, hitchhiking, and a strict budget of just 2.50 Euros a day (though I did sneak in a bikini!). That trip was merely the beginning of many more to come. 🌍
