About Me

Hi there!

I'm a 22-year-old girl who is curious about the world and loves meeting new people as well as learning new, interesting things. I also advocate for human rights and environmental justice.

I LOVE nature and outdoor activities. My favorite activities are caving, hiking and camping. I've been caving for more than 3 years and also done researches on cave biodiversity/biology. In addition, I'm passionate about using technology, art and science to help protect nature/the environment. That's why I choose to major Math and minor in Biology in college.

Besides nature, I also LOVE music. I play the piano. My favorite music genre is Jazz, Classics. I also spend a lot of time reading and doing painting.

I am also very open-minded and respect differences. New cultures fascinate me. That's why I travel, mainly to explore the aspects of music, art, food and different ways people carry on their lives or believe about certain things. I keep my mind "blank like a white sheet" while travelling and open to any ideas or stories because by doing that, I can learn so much about things happening around the world and come to appreciate the diversity of our world. This also inspires me to be kind to other people since I believe everybody has a story to tell in the context of the environment they live in.

Hope I can get to know you and listen to your stories!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Partly to save money while travelling but mainly to make friends with the locals and listen to different stories otherwise I couldn't hear if I stay by myself in a hotel. In addition, Couchsurfing will enable me to understand more about the way people live, and thus helping me get a deeper insight into the cultures of the places I go to!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Went to one of the very rural place in Alaska and stayed with a gold miner during winter time. Luckily the coldest was only -20 F (it got down to -50 just right by the time I left), but still very cold for a Southern Vietnamese girl haha. But everything turned out ok, I had a lot of fun, met incredible people, did crazy things you would never normally do and also saw the Northern Lights!!!
