About Me
My name's Lamar Visarraga and I have this yearning inside to travel the world to get out and see new places. This last summer I visited the Dominican Republic for 5 weeks, and now I have this longing to see more new places and learn about new cultures and gain perspectives on life. I just graduated from the University of Oregon with degrees in Linguistics and Second-Language Acquisition and Teaching. I don't know where life will take me, but with positivity and determination I know there's nothing that I can't do, when I set my mind to it.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
The real reason I'm on Couchsurfing is because I love the idea and culture of Couchsurfing and I think that people shouldn't have to waste potentially hundreds of dollars staying in a hotel or a hostel (although hostels aren't a bad option). The fact that people in the world would consider opening up their homes to people to share languages, ideas, and culture is what really attracts me, as these are the things I am the most interested in. If you are reading this and considering whether to host me just know that I am someone who enjoys learning about the world and the different people that inhabit it. I am very respectful and I hope that you will at least give a chance.
