About Me
Hello! I am a life-loving student of Genetics and Bioengineering whose passion for music and nature is endless. I love meeting new and cool people and travelling around the World. I think the mistery of our existence is hidden in our genes and while working on finding the way to read the answer I've met incredible human beings. I love volunteering and it makes me so happy. I've mostly worked the volunteering job of a music nonformal teacher for kids who are in bad economical or social positions and as a music therapy counselor with kids with special needs.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Each person has a story, the more stories we know the bigger book we are. This is the same with places. And if we can mix getting to know a person and a place at the same time then there is nothing better. I am happy to host and to travel and meet cool people.
Interests
I wake up to the sound of music and if I am not in class or playing music myself, there has to be a backing track to my life playing around. I am opened to many genres of music and always happy to hear something new. I believe that ethnomusic creates a spiritual way for people to bond, because in its roots it is transported ear to ear, heart to heart.
Nature is just a big part of me, of my personality. I try to be in the chaos of the universe, one with the World around me and at peace with all coming my way. The experience of traveling enables one to see even more nature, to hear more music from real people and to have many wonderful conversations about life and science.
I love animals and I keep a part time cat, Pipin. In the winter he keeps warm at the apartement and in the summer he is free.
I also like learning languages and hearing about many philosophies. My opinion is that something can be learned from anybody and that through conversation we can unlock many hidden wise truths from within.

Music, Movies, and Books
Woah when it comes to music my taste varies so much through the years. When I was younger I listened to the Beatles and Queen and a lot of rock and metal bands, then I got acquainted to jazz, manouche, improvisational music , Tom Waits ,Nina Simone , Chet Baker, Miles Davis and the gang, now I am playing a lot of old World Ethno Music and I love it. For me music is the real history of a nation and culture, it paints a thousand paintings and tells a hundred stories in just a few minutes. I enjoy spending time with some background music of the one and only Thelonious Monk or gentle sounds of the Kings of convenience(they have a melancholy sound that is so close to my soul), and how could I forget my spirit guide the most amazing Hozier. My favourite movies have to be from Woody Allen, I am not a big movie geek, I try to be up to date , although I am not the person to call if it is a movie trivia qyestion. I enjoy watching movies that make me think, or are based on true stories. If I had to pick one, it is definitely the Legend of 1900. Books, well I appreciate any form of written word but if I had to choose I would probably decide on the works of great philosophers or poetry of old poets. Kafka is a great conceptual artist of his time as well as Joyce. Perhaps the book closest to my heart is the Happy Prince and other tales from the genious Oscar Wilde.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
2019. End of Spring, location: south of France, Saint Marie de la Mere
A few days before the Pelerinage
I was playing some old forgotten Balkan song on the clarinet with my best friend who played the violin and our favourite teacher on the guitar. We were playing some music so a beautiful gypsy woman in a wide red flamenco dress could dance with her doves to the beat of our notes. I stopped for a second and looked into the sunset that was almost over so it was bright pink right now and just in the right moment did I turn! Around dozen of Camargue Flamingos flew into the sunset from one swamp to the next, chasing the sun. On the right side of the panorama I could see wild white Horses just running freely through the fields. On the left side there was the magic of the see water just flowing and giving our music rhytm. This moment lasted for just a few seconds cause I had to continue playing the song but in my head it lasted an eternity. Now it is forever written and the photo of that scene will stay in the back of my memory till the day I die.
Teach, Learn, Share
Well being born in the Balkans I had a taste of the whole culture of all the former Yugoslavia countries, my mom lived in England and studied there so she always spoke about their culture as well. From a very young age I was very interested in many different countries, religions, etc. I cook pretty well and can share my recipes. I play various types of music so I can teach you my songs. I love exploring the universe and the secrets behind it so science is very dear to my heart cause it is a key that enables me to unlock some of the treasure chests that are everywhere. I study genetics and I can't sequence your genome right now but I can share some of the knowledge I gained through the years. I also work a lot with kids with special needs via music therapy so if someone were to be interested in that I would be happy to share.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Well many things, conversations are so important in life, and I can talk about basically topics of all kind, from sports and music to ancient cultures, and I have a pair of very well tuned ears so I could listen to you speak your mind. I think we all learn a lot from each other. If you enjoy good food I can cook you a traditional Balkan dish or something French. If I have my instrument I can play some music for you(p.s. I almost always have my instrument with me, so just pick a song you'd like to hear). If I was travelling from Bosnia directly I would 100% bring you some cool sweets from the Balkans, a lot of good spirit and energy and smiles for days( I hope 😂). I can offer also so many beautiful stories of amazing old songs cause finding old songs that shows us the real culture and history is kinda my passion. But of course if you just want to chill, we'll just chill.
