ABOUT ME

Explore, explore, explore! it's my favorite word on the dictionary. I am on a quest to venture around the world. I am a student of Nutrition and Dietetics at Florida International University in Miami. At the current moment I am awaiting for my internship to start, which will be in the summer of 2011. I am passionate, driven, trustworthy and friendly. I love photography, playing guitar, dogs, salsa dancing, and many more things... Cheers to a good life! Carpe Diem.

PHILOSOPHY

"Todo lo puedo en Cristo que me fortalece." (Filipenses 4:13)

Three passions have governed my life:
The longings for love, the search for knowledge,
And unbearable pity for the suffering of humankind.

Love brings ecstasy and relieves loneliness.
In the union of love I have seen
In a mystic miniature the prefiguring vision
Of the heavens that saints and poets have imagined.

With equal passion I have sought knowledge.
I have wished to understand the hearts of people.
I have wished to know why the stars shine.

Love and knowledge led upwards to the heavens,
But always pity brought me back to earth;
Cries of pain reverberated in my heart
Of children in famine, of victims tortured
And of old people left helpless.
I long to alleviate the evil, but I cannot,
And I too suffer.

This has been my life; I found it worth living.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When on a project in Nicaragua called December of Dreams to aid about 3,000 kids in need of toys and school supplies. I know I can't change the world, but at least I put my grain of sand to make the difference :)

The time I went on a road trip around Europe and Ecuador. I took thousands of pictures and have very memorable moments with the amazing people I traveled and people I met.
