About Me

Hi, I am Lana, 26 years old and I have been living in Berlin for the past 3 years. I am doing my master's degree in cultural studies. I am really interested in all kinds of cultural events and I love getting to know new people. For the past couple of years I have also worked at several different film festivals and it was always a pleasure to meet people from all over the world who share their stories with each other. I am open to learning new things and also sharing my knowledge with others. Does not always have to be very intellectual or philosophical, I also love talking about my favorite episodes from Spongebob Squarepants or why I was obsessed with Green Day as a teenager.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have been a member on this platform for 4 years but never really used Couchsurfing and that is something I want to change now.
Because I can finally afford to travel more, I am planning to see a bit more of the world and I would love it if Couchsurfing could help me have a great time while traveling around. Hopefully some locals in other places of the world can show me what living in these countries and cities is really like. Maybe we can all learn something from each other!

Interests

I guess I am a real foodie. I love trying all kinds of dishes and am constantly trying to improve my cooking skills. While I am already quite decent at it, I really, really want to be able to eat all kinds of spicy food.

I also really love plants am have been eager to learn more about them while building my own little jungle in my room.

I love short films probably even more than feature films because they can tell so many much more diverse stories.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once helped to release some baby turtles back into the ocean in Sri Lanka. Always wonder what they might be up to right now...

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you a lot of weird fun facts about musicians (especially the band Gorillaz), films, plants, animals, all kinds of condiments in Asian supermarkets etc....

I recently really enjoyed taking care of my plants, so I am really happy to share and broaden my knowledge in this field. 🌵

I also really want to exchange cooking recipes for vegetarian dishes! :)

Also I can teach you German and some basic phrases in Indonesian.
