About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Learn, smile and share

ABOUT ME

I love creating and being active! Painting, drawing, cooking, baking, eating, frizbee, poi, rolling around, hiking, sliding, making fires, knitting, embroidery and so on, you get the picture. I love to be with friends and meeting new people I live simply and happily taking one day at a time, trying to avoid stress and negativity. I love to laugh, make others laugh. I don't think I will ever "grow up", being a free spirited person means you're always going to be having fun. It's nice to find such pleasure it small comforts. I strive to be adaptable and comfortable almost anywhere.

PHILOSOPHY

I live my life to soar with happiness and light. Everything is always just as it should be and when it's not, well, that's when you learn everything you need to know about what life is. You learn how to deal with all the things that can and do get thrown in your lap, it's all so exciting! I think it's important to listen and be confident and patient.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I got into hosting summer 2013 and absolutely love having all sorts of newcomers come and enjoy our little piece of Newfound paradise.
I've also done some surfing and just cannot get over the wonderful people I've had the chance to connect with. Such generosity this world offers! and inspiration to pass it on.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

The greatest thing about cs is the diversity of people out there. Some connections are stronger than others of course and interacting with so many different people each with different backgrounds give you a chance to learn more about the world and more about yourself. I'm thankful for all the ones who've I met through couchsurfing and looking forward to continuing.

Interests

I love being busy doing all sorts of different and new things. Always seems like there just isn't enough time in a day, you know?
I love cooking and experimenting with food. Eating is a wonderful thing to share with others. It's always nice and interesting to try to make things yourself to see how it'll turn out.
I enjoy wasting nothing and using everything, I think it's fun to discover new uses for things that would normally be thrown out.
I've been following a fairly strict vegan diet since January 2015
I really love going to see music and dancing and rocking out. Good music can't be beat!

Music, Movies, and Books

I love to hear new things and dancing with people.
Mostly I don't watch television, the only show I've seen in totalilty is Twin Peaks. I do enjoy movies sometimes. The Princess Bride will always be my all time favourite movie.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Anything that happens at cape o'clock ends up being an amazing thing, actually a couple of the best moments of my life have occurred while wearing my cape: cross country skiing, hiking to high peaks in the wind and my favourite and most amazing flying around on a ferris wheel at Electric Forest.

Scuba diving in Koh Tao, Thailand where I wish I could've been wearing my cape but I don't think I even had a cape then. It's a whole notha level down there!! It's an inexplicable feeling when you emerge after being underwater for 20 mins. It's like you totally forgot the world you've always lived in for that period of time spent underwater.

Teach, Learn, Share

Well I live my life the way I do because I believe that everyone can be a new friend and so I try to be open to everyone in a positive way. It's just so incredible when I get to make people smile or laugh. There're too many people who are afraid of all those people they don't know yet.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Bert Bark Inn is currently my full time job and although I'd love to be able to host everyone free of charge that is no longer possible for me. That being said I'd love to have folks stop by our place to check it out and have a chat over some tea. We can give recommendations of activities to do in the area and can provide primitive camping spots.
