About Me

I am a senior studio art major at Otterbein University with concentrations in photography and ceramics and minors in journalism and nature studies. I love to travel and meet people and just experience life in general and all it has to offer. I try to see the best in every situation and live by the life motto "the journey is the destination." I try to sleep as little as possible because it often feels like I'm missing out on opportunities- although I know there is a time and a place and it's healthy. I love the outdoors but also appreciate cities- nature is what gives me peace and happiness though.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Im couch surfing because it makes adventuring and meeting people so much more convenient and fruitful.

Interests

I'm a photography major so obviously I love taking pictures and cameras and all that stuff. As a whole though I just love meeting new people, hearing their stories, sharing mine, making new stories, etc.. I love the outdoors and anything to do with it, I worked in Glacier National Park for the summer of 2018 and have never enjoyed myself more. I hiked, camped, swam, etc. everyday and can't wait to go back and do it again. I love being with people, but also really value personal time whether it be taking pictures or reading a book somewhere chill- also enjoy journaling and collaging so I remember all my experiences. I have a hard time throwing things away and really appreciate old things, so if I find stuff or see others throwing stuff away I have to take it. My friends call me a hoarder for this, but it's all very organized so I prefer collector- we meet halfway and just say my room is a thrift store. I love thrift stores and get much of my wardrobe from them.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love all music, my playlist is very broad and random, I really enjoy live music. I enjoy reading, I've read a ton but can't really choose a favorite... I've read a lot of different books and liked them for different reasons. I really enjoy books based on true stories. I don't watch a ton of movies, but really enjoy them when I do watch them. Typically like most things except for screamo death metal music and anything horror, but also still open to give it a try every now and then.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I just returned from being a TA (teacher's assistant) at a university in Shanghai, China for four weeks and then went to Beijing and saw the Great Wall of China for my fifth and final week there.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'd like to think I can teach people something valuable about life or cameras or something like that but I guess it depends on the person and if they already know more than I. At which point I am very open and excited when it comes to learning. I know a little bit about a lot of things and will generally never turn down an opportunity to add to that list. Im always down to share stories and laughs as well as any food or help that I'm able to provide.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can be as present or distant as a host likes. I will admit, I am a talker and I really enjoy meeting people so I can offer that for better or worse. I'll help in whatever ways i can whether it be helping with dishes, taking out the trash, providing groceries whatever, don't be shy to ask for help. I will say I am a college student though so I'll do my best with groceries with the funds I have.
