Aloha, I'm Lance and I live here in beautiful Maui. On my free time I enjoy surfing, hula dance, reading, traveling, and practicing different languages. I have lived abroad in Brazil, France, Japan, Mexico, and Nicaragua, and enjoy practicing Portuguese, Spanish, French, and Japanese whenever I can.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I hope to have the opportunity to meet new people and form new friendships, as well as the chance to travel and learn and practice foreign languages. I also enjoy learning about different cultures as well as sharing my own culture with others.

I enjoy many different kinds of music; classical, world music, rock, hip hop, and am particularly fond of Brazilian and Hawaiian music.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I served in the Peace Corps in Nicaragua; where I worked with local teachers to improve their English language programs and also worked on community projects in a rural area of the country.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach English, some Brazilian Portuguese, French, and Spanish, very basic Japanese. I can share my experiences having lived in California, Hawaii, Brazil, Nicaragua, France, Japan. I am a Social Worker and was also an elementary school teacher and can share any knowledge that might be useful, I also love learning new things too.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can help with any tasks, cooking, cleaning, gardening, painting, organizing, etc. I can babysit if necessary, take care of animals, drive, or do any sort of work that isn't too complex.
