ABOUT ME

Hey guys, I'm Landon, and I really like foreign languages and cultures. Throughout most of high school I've hung out with international students, and studied languages as a hobby. My best friend is Korean, and many of my friends are from Asia. I've studied Chinese for about 3 years now, and I won a national Chinese speech competition last year. The competition was called Chinese Bridge, and there are also international competitions in China for those lucky enough to be selected. Anyways, after high school, I hope I am fortunate enough to be able to travel and meet people from other places like I have in high school.

PHILOSOPHY

I always try to live happily, but also calmly. Too many people are too concerned with what's going on in their lives and they just get anxiety. I've always thought it's better to maybe screw up a little bit, and not freak out if you do, because you can't control every little detail of your life, so just enter a "flow" state, where you're simultaneously constantly trying to improve yourself, but also happy with your current circumstances.

My favorite band is Sum 41, and I like a lot of other alternative rock bands. I also like orchestral, underground hip hop, electronic, jazz, and many other types of music.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Learning Chinese has been been, is, and will continue to be an amazing experience for me. I want to keep traveling to China, and I want to travel to other foreign countries and learn other languages someday.
