About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To see more of home.

ABOUT ME

I like to travel, cook, and learn. I become more and more "rugged" with age which leads me to more and more happiness. I dream of a future in the back-country with a kitchen, chicken, and a garden.

I'm very passionate in living as simple and naturally as I can. I love making as much as I can without totally relying on commercial products- I dream of being more self-sustained than not. I want to learn more about nature (specifically botany, herbalism, gardening, hunting/fishing, etc) sewing, crafting, survival skills, physiology, etc.

I love to study the world around me- sometimes it is just too ridiculous. I find myself seeing good in everyone, even if just for a minute. I try to stay positive and always try to try everything at least once- life is too short to absorb all that life can bring.

I try to be as honest as I can- I believe in being a fluid person with no ill intentions.
Looking to meet people who are open minded and value happiness and friendship over money. Opportunist and resourceful; I like to meet people who can think in an abstract fashion and break away from the standard forms of thinking/behaving that society has accepted.

PHILOSOPHY

"Be good, in the sense that you most like.."

"Whenever you feel the bad......tranquilize."

"There is genius in their hatred"

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'll go anywhere for an adventure, and hope the same in return. I make friends with strangers, and show them new things by cooking for them, etc.

I try to be a good guest- not because I should be, but because I want to be. I'm interested in and respect other people's differences and passions even if I can't fully understand. I find it very pleasing to talk to people who stand for something (big or small). I would go out of the way to surf with a genuine person than find the first person available to host me downtown.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Guatemala, Spain, and Albania have stolen my heart.
Mostly all good experience. My hosts in Spain were so great that I stayed 2 extra days than necessary and sacrificed missing other places just to spend more time with them!

Interests

Learning new things/ideas, cooking, consumables, and talking among good company. I like to go on walks, discover hidden treasures, and eat new foods. The local slang and accents of different places is also interesting to me.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Climbing an active volcano and melting my shoes.

Catching my first fish.

Eating pig brains for breakfast.

Being homeless at 4AM in Honduras, sleeping in between two hobos. Also, the 3-year-old child in Copan, sitting on his doorstep with great skills on how to handle the knife he was holding.

Peeing in the woods of Northern Sweden in a drunken state by sitting on a gross bed of moss. And getting a knee of pee, anyway!

Oh, and the Swedish Midsummer.

Running around drunk at 2AM in pajamas with Marissa while trying to save Rodrigo from the secretly gay "cool guy."

And the "Never Have I Ever" game :]

14 Feb 2010 in Montreal, because when I had problems, I only had to look at the fish.

18 Feb 2010 :D

Riding on the back of Morgan's bike in Amsterdam in the middle of the night, with the euphoric daze of traffic lights, holding a roti in one hand, and his six pack in another.
