About Me

Oi! (brazilian hi)
We are Lanna and Richard, two brazilians on an expedition from Portugal to China by land. Lanna is a journalist and Richard is a videomaker. We both like to cook, hike up a moutain or just a hill with a viewpoint, travel, go for a swim in a waterfall or ocean, and discover new music, movies and food from different places.

Right now we are traveling on the Silk Road, the path from the Occident to the Orient. After 8 years living in different parts of Latin America, we want to meet new people, different cultures, eat a lot of food, and do some trekkings on the way.

While we travel, we register our stories on YouTube. Our goal is to show brazilians (since we speak in portuguese) that the world is diverse and that is something to be celebrated. Our YouTube channel called Vida de Mochila, you can check it out here: https://www.youtube.com/@VidadeMochila
https://www.instagram.com/vidademochila/

If you don't wanna be a part of the videos in any way, no problems! We can still hang out and be friends, of course. But, if you wanna share your stories and culture with other people, we will spread the word :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To share a bit of Brazil with the world, and also to experience a little bit of your culture as well! Meeting new people around the world is what motivates us.

Experience different habits, learn how to make traditional cuisines, learn musics, histories, movies, and dances.

Music, Movies, and Books

Lanna's favorite book right now is Como Agua Para Chocolate, a mexican magical realism filled with food, politics, history and a bunch of love (of course, it's latin america hahah)

Richard's favorite book is TransPatagônia, a brazilian author that went to the end of the world in a bycicle, 6.000 km.

We love brazilian and latin music, but we are more in love to get to know new songs. Richard is addicted to Shazam.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

We both travelled from Uruguay to Mexico by land. But we didn't know each other, we were travelling solo for 3 years. We met a few months after our journey ended, and now we share our own journey on the road.

Teach, Learn, Share

We like to cook, so we can make a little bit of brazilian food, show some musics and dances, such as forró, our favorite. Or teach some nice brazilian portuguese nice words, books, movies.

We would love to experience a little bit of your culture as well. If you invite us to your home, don't worry, we love kids and all kinds of animals.
