About Me
CURRENT MISSİON
DON'T write to me if you are in Shanghai, as I'm not!
Writing poems in Chinese and English.
Hang my paintings all over friends'.
Stabler headstand and shoulder stand.
History (a ton on Mediterranean), art (a ton of museums, galleries, documentaries and books), tech, nutrition, astronomy, quantum, poetry, novels, philosophy, anthropology, gardening, anything and everything fascinates me.
ABOUT ME
A free soul embracing joy and torture, interests stretching to moon and roles various as water, mind wonders along my journey through the world.
Once a theatre lover, volunteer and journalist in the college, sweet art fan in Europe, exchange program in Sweden Umea, brave wonderer in Africa, right fighter in Ethiopia, try-to dancer in South America, movie maker in Greece, the most nonsense from the best university, today a yogee and streamline painter, the once-crazy, still sharpest and coolest Chinese, a fun soul, absolute experiencist and life learner through decades.
2012: Taught children English in Addis Ababa, not gentle but very 'responsible' to give all I know (in abusive Chinese style hahaha) . 'No, you will never ever hitchhike!' Actually, I DID though got punched by a driver. Even accidents seem so wonderful looking back. Recently visited old friends in Kenya, Tanzania and Ethiopia for one-month remote working, and accidently became a wedding photographer for a dear man, following an easy Kilimanjaro summiting. Was great to discover everyone changing yet not changed, and to have real talks at our adult-30s.
2013-New York: Little remains about my day-to-day academics, but such diversified neighborhoods, unique streets and boutique shops I have walked through, such crazy and creative art, theatre and music scene, such architecture jungle ready to soar above a magic carpet, such wonderful New Yorkers, and such free air that never kills bright thoughts. No other cities match.
2014-Athens and Thessaloniki: No night, no day, only the beard, food, alcohol, dance, music, chest hair, sunshine, sea, beach, towns, melodious Greek, office battles, endless documentaries in the dark cinema and dozing… Flowers flying, fingers snapping, so condensed so mixed so strong so powerful, yet so tranquil, flowing like a poem.
2017-Camino de Santiago: 10 days 272 km, great souls, whenever exhausted, always ahead or behind with simple greetings, "Bueno Camino", "Buenos Dias", put me on a new vibe. A walk for one person in the end. Alone but never lonely.
2020-2023: non-stop outdoors, plateau hiking and snow mountain summiting just in China, thanks to the closed doors :p, done two 6000m+ and five 5000m+, always ready for a 7000m.
2024: Re-visit beautiful souls on a Grand Tour over North and South America, a one-decade mission after Africa.
PHILOSOPHY
See the world with kids' eyes; think about it like adults; love it with elders' sorrow.
I'm a hotpot person, warming up only on the table, so excuse my sometimes cold message; just wait for dinner time:)
I'm an open book, but don't over read, 'cause nothing is hidden. If we don't please each other, just close me and buy a different thing, no drama or game.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
A stand-up comedian in Atlanta impressed not only with his humor but motivational story, half paralyzed yet starting up his own business, and traveling to inspire others.
A handsome man hosted me in Baltimore and showed the other side of him being such a gorgeous drag queen at a LGBT party on the new year's eve, A few years later, I found him again on Facebook, surprisingly yet understandably, she, as the head of local LGBT movement leader, found herself complete in peace and happiness.
Surfed with a crazy Italian artist host just out of college. This mentor shed another color of light when I didn't know what to do with my life. Well, he dumped me on the street while we were both high on his motorbike, and today I'm visiting his ayahuasca retreat. :p
Which crazy one do you wanna know, or wanna get high together?
Interests
--Decent Swing Dancing (Lindy Hop + Blues), and broken Salsa / Bachata in a clubbing twerking way
--Shavasana, while I enjoy flow, too, so that I could easily fall asleep during shavasana
--Working on a laptop overtime/late/early/weekends, dancing with my own laps in the office with all kinds of music
--Sketchy sketching and pain-my-ass painting
--Travel & street photography, no selfies like my people, only professional shots
--A good movie or theater show, occasionally falling asleep
--Playing the hell knows what weird roles in the college theatre group, including boy, nun, beggar, mafia...until one day realizing I'm too old to memorize a line
--Shooting my own short films mostly in the college time, with a vague dream of becoming famous in the porn industry
--Writing funny travel stories, simply complaining about everything including myself
--Hiking like a penguin, always lost myself and fall down on my ass
--Laughing, no matter where, when and for what, a deadly pollutant to the ecosystem
--Learning guitar for years, never grasp, but I play piano pretty well, guess I'm not so silly...
--Self-employed stand-up + sit-down comedian, believing only jokes and thoughts are worth talked about
--Burningman

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
----Homesick to 30+ countries I've been but never homeland
----Eating everything, I'm a Chinese you know? No, you cannot imagine! and I have no sense of smell, so don't blame me if I finish everything on the dish without a comment
----Naked for graduation on campus and topless in Santorini
---- "Flying" in streets of Dali, seeing everything like Van Gogh's painting
----Hitchhiked and tortured children in Ethiopia with allergy bubbles all over my body
----Dressed as Inca people and dancing for New Year. Machupichu of course, maybe more Pachamama
----Paraglided and swam in February Turkey, every border marking the history
----Visiting South Korea for swing dance events so regularly that everyone believed I was going for plastic surgery
----Simply by living in NYC for 2 years!!! I do not mean studying, staying, traveling or making a living, BUT TRULY "LIVE" -- “The true New Yorker secretly believes that people living anywhere else have to be, in some sense, kidding.”
----With driving and diving licenses, cannot do either
----Jump the water without knowing at all how to swim
----Camino de Santiago with a broken wrist and knee, comforted my feet with a packed condom
----Self-learned painting during covid, but now more like a Foxconn worker
----A rising snow mountain climber absolutely no high altitude sickness
----A heartbreaking broken-up trip in Scotland with my first love, Jesus, we could write a book called 100 ways of killing your ex...

What I Can Share with Hosts
**THOUGH I don't really care when surfing, WHEN hosting, I prefer understanding my guest well, because the poor English or whatever language communication really could kill the whole experience. Please anyone who is ever writing a request, make sure going through my whole profile especially this part**
**IN YOUR request please do include "I'm also another weirdo from cs just like you." Otherwise, well you know what is otherwise...**
**I AM expecting you to be at least 80% similar to how your profile describes. You don't have to be polite or intelligent, but please be at least TRUE, genuine and honest, since I've been fed up with craps like "Catch the moment" or "Open to every possibility" while in reality not at all type of people. That's why we need a profile first, don't we?
**IF YOU just wanna meet up, and actually are staying in a hotel on a business trip, please clarify in advance so that I won't be preparing the couch for nobody, and cancel some other amazing guests. I have had several cases like this and I do hate it. No matter how cool you are, or how many positive references you have got, this behavior is simply unbearable, not to mention inviting me to "drop by the hotel"!
