About Me

I would like to continue developing myself and my interests, potentially make it into some form of money earning. If I could make others smile and introduce some beauty to the world on the way, it would be perfect. So far I have managed to get a remote-working position in a business related to language learning which I consider a great success!

I'm an introvert with an open-mind who believes everyone has a story to tell and something to teach me.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on CS to support openness and cross cultural contacts. I think being curious, travelling and learning from each other is the best way to be tolerant and cultivate enthusiasm about the world.

At the same time I think CS is one of the first models of more sustainable travelling where we all share resources and experiences to help each other (and make the money-hungry hotel corporations go out of business :P).

Interests

Drumming, if I feel I can be patient with myself.
Foreign languages if I feel that I have enough determination.
Crafts if I have time.
Gym, yup, I'm one of those 5x a week gym girls.
Meditation and yoga for peace of mind.

Bits of everything to be honest. Maybe except for economics.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies - love all of them! Especially keen on those that are considered non-main stream, though they are sometimes hard to find. I'd be grateful for any recommendations! :D

Books... since I went to the university the phrase 'reading books' gained a new meaning. I used to read a lot of fiction, now mainly going through Tim Ferriss' recommendations and books about start-ups, self-development and various other pop-sci topics.

As far as music is concerned, my taste is always evolving, but the only thing it can be described as is eclectic—from ambient electronic, through classics like RHCP to Skindred.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One amazing thing I have seen is the ancient city of Petra in Jordan. It is simply impossible to describe and even the photos can not express how one feels there. Especially surrounded by air-conditioned donkeys :P

I also did indoor skydiving, which is like skydiving for the ones scared of (or who can't afford) "the real thing" ;-)

Teach, Learn, Share

Should anyone wish to extend his Biblical Hebrew grammar skills, I'm ready to help. Modern Hebrew too!

I would love to practice other languages ( that I learned or tried or started learning) Spanish, German, Yiddish, Arabic, Esperanto or Toki Pona (if you don't know the last one, I'd be more than happy to tell you all about it!)

What I Can Share with Hosts

Stories. Dark sense of humour. Can bring supplies of UK tea and biscuits!

Countries I’ve Visited

Croatia, Egypt, Finland, Germany, Israel, Italy, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Kyrgyzstan, Norway, Romania, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, Uganda, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In
