About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To bring light to the world, one photograph, couchsurfer and smile at a time

ABOUT ME

Lara is a friendly, bubbly introvert who spends a good amount of time behind her camera and whatever time is left behind a computer. This often involves watching series and starting novels that never get finished. She also loves board games!

Grant on the other hand is a social extrovert who gets along with absolutely everyone and will never pass up a chance to sing some karaoke. He also loves board games.

PHILOSOPHY

The word philosophy scares Lara, possibly because she studied it for so long and it brings to mind thoughts of Nietzsche and Sartre, but how do we live our life? Bringing smiles to other people's eyes, (and capture those smiles if Lara can). We are happiest when other people around us are happy, and are always happy to go out of our way to help others.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet new people and to make sure that people have somewhere to stay if they are coming to our fair city.

Music, Movies, and Books

Recently? Amanda Palmer, Nathan Fillion, Neil Gaiman, David Mitchell (author), Stephen Fry, Terry Prachett (only just started reading him really), Passenger and the list really does go on and on.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A marathon in the mud! It was part of the Boryeong Mud Festival in Korea, and Lara was on her way to what was supposed to be the party of the year. But the company that she went through added one additional stop along the way - a field of mud that she had to run through. Lara is not the fittest, and not the biggest fan of mud, but it was incredible experience that she will never forget.

Teach, Learn, Share

Lara can teach photography and crocheting (though I might not be very good at the latter). Both of us can teach board games too, though I think that's less of a skill and more of a hobby. We'd love to learn a variety of languages and Lara wants to learn calligraphy.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Good food, good stories and great fun.
