About Me
ABOUT ME
I'm Lara and 19 years old. I used to live in a small town near Berlin. When I finished High School one year ago I thought:"Seriously, I need to get out of here". So I applied to the Working Holiday Visa and started my journey in September. Now I'm here in Canada since 8 month.
And I realized traveling is that thing what I've missed in my life.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I signed in here because it's exciting to meet new people and get to know their lives. It's different compared to a hostel or something because you're living together even if it's just of some hours. Every time you meet people you don't know so far and that makes couch surfing exciting for me.
Interests
Canada showed me that hiking is my passion. Beside of that I love skiing (to be honest I didn't go skiing here in Canada).
It's just awesome to spend my time in the nature.
For sure I enjoy my travels. I've been to 16 countries but this is not enough for me. Getting to know a new culture is always exciting even though you're not able to speak the language in this country.
Especially in summer I used to go to concerts or festivals. And it's never a dull moment. Several days with your friends, people you just met (and you're sure you'll never see them again. But you had a great time anyway), good music and no sleep.

Music, Movies, and Books
My favourite book is 1984. But I appreciate every book of George Orwell.
I love to listen to Blink 182, Glass Animals (just saw them live in Vancouver and it was great), Gesaffelstein, Alt- J and stuff like that. But I love actually a lot of different kinds of music.
And "this is England" is my favourite movie. Yes, I love things which are connected to Great Britain
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
it's hard to just pick one. But one of the best thing was the roadtrip I did with two friends of me. Just us, the car and the Westcoast of USA. So we spent like one month in the States and like 2 weeks in the Rockies. We where basically homeless for almost two months but it was one of my best experiences because this just showed me that you don't need that much material stuff to be happy. (And it's just so exciting to sleep somewhere in no where in Canada or USA).
In general the best thing of my life so far was my journey to Canada. I've never met so much people from everywhere (seriously I've never met Australians before). I did this I've never done before for example hitchhikin from Vancouver to Whistler and just did some slack lining somewhere in the mountains of Whistler.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Sharing moments with people is very important. Even if it's just sitting in a café or walking around. Sometimes it's just the simple things that counts.
