Hi, I'm Lara and on a trip around the world with my partner (Christoph) at the Moment.

Since we met 8 years ago we were talking nonstop about wanting to explore the world and broaden our horizon.
Finally in June 2017 we were able to start our sabbatical and started with a trip around Europe in our self-restored VW T3 Van. It was an amazing experience and we learned a lot on our way.

But as it started to get colder and colder, we decided to move on to a new stage of our travel and overwinter in a place with milder temperatures....thats how we landed in Asia.

Thats why since October we are experiencing a new form of travel: backpacking through Asia :-)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We love to meet local people and be able to experience a place through their eyes and learn from their perspectives.
We appresciate to learn from others (each other) and get to know more about their lives, experiences, hopes and passions!

Music, Movies, and Books

-My favorite book is "Siddhartha" from Hermann Hesse (I read it over and over again), I also really like "Das Parfum" from Patrick Süskind, and if I should mention a third one it would be "The Hobbit" by J. R. R. Tolkien
-We love a lot of movies and tv-series...for example Game of Thrones, House of Cards, the Lord of the Rings Saga, most of Quentin Tarantinos movies, etc.
-In terms of Music some of my favorite artists are Manu Chao, Jovanotti, Tracy Chapman, Ohrbooten, but also many more :-)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

-Sell all of our stuff, give up our apartement and start to live the dram of travelling around the world for a longer period of time
-Explore Europe on our 10`500 km roadtrip and experiencing Vanlife in our self-restored VW T3 Van
-Create a group called "Ladies just do it" where a bunch of girls meet up all 2 months in order to try a new type of sport (we already did stand up paddling, mermaiding, tap dance, self-defense and many many more)

Teach, Learn, Share

-We are very eager to experiment, learn, reflect and share,... in the hope of creating value not only for ourselves but for you too! :-)
-Personal Growth (reflection tools, positive habits, visualization, etc.)

What I Can Share with Hosts

Well Christoph and I are quite different and we have very different qualities to offer ;-)

Lara:
-I`m very talkative and could share some of our best travel stories with you and maybe give you some tips if requested.
-Besides smalltalk I also really like getting to know people a little deeper...what does inspire them and what do they get excited about? What are the main struggels they face in their everyday lifes and if they had all the freedom in the world...what would they do? I`m also interested to get to know more about their culture and the country/city they live in....and of course I am willing to share some information about Switzerland if you are interested in :-)

Christoph:
-His communication is more on the "nonverbal" side ;-) But he has a very contagious laughter ;-)
-He has a great sense of humor and will bring in some funny comments into the conversation
-He knows a lot about cars (he restored our old VW T3 bus and handmade all the furnishing)

One thing we have in common: we love cats :-)
