Overview
About Me
22 year old M.A. student born and living in Salvador, BA, Brazil. I lived in Michigan for about 5 months in 2008 and I work mainly as a freelance cultural producer -- which means I like to check out all sorts of events, concerts and new venues. I've just gotten out of six years working back-to-back and I'm excited to enjoy the city in every way I couldn't when I had a work routine.
[ Seen as I'm currently writing my thesis, I apologize in advance if I'm not able to host any of you this year. ]
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
As an exchange student, I had a wonderful time in somebody else's home, as I had the luck of being placed with a family that took me in as one of their own. I'm excited to meet new people by both couchsurfing and offering my house (when possible).
Interests
Watching TV and films (for academic purposes, you know), cats, cooking, yoga, traveling, writing and procrastinating. I happen to be great at the latter.

Music, Movies, and Books
MUSIC
My favorite bands are Queen and my favorite singers are Robert Plant and Nina Simone. But I also love listening to all sorts of things that seem random when listed: Joni Mitchell, The Magnetic Fields, Billy Joel, Lorde, Shura, Regina Spektor, Death Cab for Cutie, Donovan etc.
I'm very fond of all kinds of Brazilian music, so if you're in for new artists and genres, I would very gladly introduce you to my favorite national artists.
MOVIES
I loved Matilda and Mary Poppins growing up and I'm a sucker for both drama and horror. Favorite directors are Wes Anderson, Spike Jonze, Alfred Hitchcock and Charlie Chaplin.
BOOKS
My favorite writer is Brazilian poet and teacher Cecília Meireles. I was a huge Harry Potter fan growing up and White Oleander, by Janet Fitch, is one of my favorite books. I also love children's books, which may or may not say a lot about me -- Le Petit Prince, Oh! The Places You'll Go, The Boy in the Mirror and Ziraldo's An Extremely Nutty Teacher.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Got up on the Fumaça waterfall in Vale do Capão (BA) and lied down on the edge just like this (http://www.feriasbrasil.com.br/fotosfb/448401358-XG.jpg) for a few minutes, wondering if the stone I was in could collapse beneath me.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am the master of impromptu vegetarian meals. I like sharing music, TV shows and films. I like hanging out with people and I'm always eager to learn new things. I am also very fond of learning foreign curse words.
