I am at a point in my life where I am as free as I have never been before and especially a point in life where I have the courage to follow that call for freedom.

I used to work in the (climate) finance industry but have decided to quit my job a year ago to complete the shift I already started with changing my study course from finance to philosophy. In my free time I love to write - mainly poetry -, to read, to paint, to dance, to spend time outside and in nature and to have lots of time for the people I care for. Over the past years I have deepened my relationship with meditation and mindful movement and it has become an important part of my daily routine. In general I came to love any form of creative expression, be it with myself or together with others.

Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin

A wonderful way to gasp the atmosphere and life of a different place than home. There is no better way to get to know a place and culture but to get in touch with locals on a very personal level...

Right now I am in Botswana after the journey of reuniting with my dog Zazu.

I spent two months in Botswana in 2021 for a trails guiding course and during my two weeks in Maun I fell in love with one of my hosts puppy who was in need for a new home, but legislation (fortunately) did not allow me to bring him along right away. So I went back to Germany and turned my life around. I left my apartment and arranged everything for me to be free to follow my path wherever it may lead me. And for now, this seems to be Maun. 🪷

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

Episode of my semester abroad :

"Right now I am stuck in a snowstorm in Nevada, missed my flight back to Victoria, will miss my final exam tomorrow and will have to take the train instead. The train ride happens to be slightly longer than the plain ride and it'll just take us 20 hours to get back to Seattle. As there is only one ferry a day going to Victoria we'll spend one more night couch surfing in Seattle before finally heading back to Victoria. Guess what - I am actually looking forward to crossing California starting in Sacramento way up to the very North!"

Our train was 7 hours late. We had to spend the freezing night at the train station in Sacramento. The train ride did not happen to take 20 hours but 25. We could not couchsurf in Seattle because we arrived at 3am in the morning. We spent 2h at the train station until the first Starbucks opened and where we spent the last 3.5h before taking our ferry back to Vancouver Island. Back home in Victoria we had to suffer a food poisoning from the dinner we had on the train.

Still an amazing experience with a lot of laughter that I wouldn't want to miss!

I love to learn about different lifestyles and am always eager to deep dive into a completely different one from mine for some time.

I do have a wonderful workaway experience from Italy in 2021, where I was invited into a beautiful family that lives a self-sufficient lifestyle with their own farming. I helped them with everything that needed help, caring for the children, helping with cooking, helping with painting their terrace, building a new structure in the backyard and helping creating cosmetics from their own bee wax. I discovered this way to be a wonderful opportunity to discover different lifestyles and really get to know the place and the people where you're spending time. ...receiving and giving back...
