My name's Lara-Scarlett. I live in Paris. After studying archaeology at the Sorbonne and the École du Louvre, I travel the world: the Trans-Siberian, the Silk Road, or the Balkans, the Middle East (Iran, Jordan, Israel, Palestine, Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, Oman, Emirates, Turkey). I let encounters guide my travels. In contact with local populations, I became passionate about ethnology and photography. I am interested in the world around me and its issues, a recurring theme: the destruction of heritage.

Reaching out to others, believing in your dreams, overcoming challenges, getting to know yourself, understanding the world, this is what triggered my travels.

The culmination of all my encounters around the world, after seeing the best and the worst, was wanting to give meaning to my approach and pass it on.

I am deeply convinced that our heritage can be vectors of peace, understanding, tolerance between peoples, and freedom.

For future generations, being interested in our heritage, in its preservation, is not about looking to the past, it is about preparing the world of tomorrow.

By working together, heritage, in all its forms, offers a universal dimension, a unifying power, what we need most to build a sustainable world.

After having crossed Iraq, Syria and Kurdistan in 2016, having seen how fragile our heritage was in the face of what the former Director-General of UNESCO, Irina Bokova, called "cultural cleansing", I decided to get involved and found Héritage & Civilisation in 2017.

Our association develops awareness-raising, preservation and heritage transmission programs, particularly for young people. Our actions are part of an intercultural dialogue with young people from all over the world.
