I am in the final stages of my bachelors in Bonn. In the last months I moved to different places, including an Erasmus exchange to Klagenfurt in Austria, right next to beautiful mountain areas and lakes. Nevertheless I'm glad to be back in Bonn for another few months, where I used to live for 2 years before. So I'm pretty familiar with the city and I like to share my favourite places with others.

Ich befinde mich in der Endphase meines Bachelorstudiums in Bonn. In den letzten Monaten bin ich an verschiedene Orte umgezogen, unter anderem für einen Erasmus-Aufenthalt nach Klagenfurt in Österreich, direkt umgeben von schönen Bergregionen und Seen. Trotzdem bin ich froh, wieder für ein paar Monate in Bonn zu sein, wo ich vorher 2 Jahre lang gelebt habe. Daher kenne ich mich in der Stadt gut aus und möchte gerne meine Lieblingsorte mit anderen teilen.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I don’t want to only visit places but really become part of the life on site. I want to find out what makes people live there and what makes them love their homeland. And I think it’s amazing to get insider tips to explore the environment through the eyes of a local rather than following all the other visitors on the well-trodden paths.

Ich möchte Orte nicht nur besuchen, sondern wirklich Teil des Lebens vor Ort werden. Ich möchte herausfinden, warum die Menschen dort leben und warum sie ihren Wohnort lieben. Und ich finde es toll, Insidertipps zu bekommen und die Umgebung aus der Perspektive eines Einheimischen zu erkunden, anstatt all den anderen Besuchern auf den ausgetretenen Pfaden zu folgen.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can offer a private room as we have got a living room in a shared flat with two other roommates, including a mattress and a shared kitchen and bathroom. At the moment we don't share our food, but you can store your stuff in the fridge of course and depending on how you manage your stay and how we get along, I'd also love to sit cook and eat together. In German shared flats it is often said "Alles kann, nichts muss", which means something like "Everything is possible, nothing is a must." What really is important to me is that there is transparent and open communication, that we talk honestly about needs and capacities, that we show consideration for each other and that we treat each other with respect. For me, this also includes keeping quiet when others are asleep, leaving the kitchen and the bathroom as clean as you found it and generally sticking to agreements.
Furthermore, there is no room for sexism, racism, homophobia, fascism and any other form of discriminatory behaviour in our home.

Ich kann ein privates Zimmer anbieten, da ich ein Wohnzimmer in der WG mit zwei anderen Mitbewohner*innen habe, inklusive einer Matratze und einer gemeinsamen Küche und einem Bad. Im Moment teilen wir unser Essen nicht, aber du kannst natürlich deine Sachen im Kühlschrank lagern und je nachdem, wie du deinen Aufenthalt gestaltest und wie wir uns verstehen, würde ich auch gerne zusammen kochen und essen. In WGs heißt es ja so oft "Alles kann, nichts muss". Manche Dinge müssen für mich aber doch, denn es ist mir wichtig, dass es eine transparente und offene Kommunikation gibt, dass wir ehrlich über Bedürfnisse und Fähigkeiten sprechen, dass wir aufeinander Rücksicht nehmen und uns gegenseitig mit Respekt behandeln. Dazu gehört für mich auch, dass man leise ist, wenn andere schlafen, dass man die Küche und das Bad so sauber hinterlässt, wie man sie vorgefunden hat, und dass man sich generell an Absprachen hält.
Außerdem gibt es in unserem Zuhause keinen Platz für Sexismus, Rassismus, Homophobie, Faschismus und jede andere Form von diskriminierendem Verhalten.
