Hey! I'm a kiwi with an addiction for travel. I moved to Germany for my masters and will be moving to Sweden for my PhD in the coming year. I love the simplicities of life: fresh air, true smiles, sunrise, good laughs, and taking time for a decent cup of tea.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My travels thus far have taught me that the best experiences come unexpected; a simple destination with a friendly and local host is worth a million. Gaining insight into the regular lives of other people, living in places so far away from what I know, is something I truly treasure. As a perpetual student (heading into the years of my PhD) travel accommodation simply isn't in the budget. I look forward to hosting a couch-surfer and sharing with them what is so valuable for me.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Won a national championship title in NZ rhythmic gymnastics. Twice. :)

Teach, Learn, Share

Dance. An exhilarating passion of mine! I dance salsa, bachata, a bit of kizoma, modern jive, zouk, and modern dance. Basic ballet and a former rhythmic gymnast.

Baking. Everything from bread to fancy layered cakes. Creating something, getting my hands dirty in the process, and being able to enjoy the final product is a bliss.

Sewing and getting crafty. I can fix anything with a needle, bring an op-shop piece to life, or alter something to make it fit perfectly with my sewing machine. I also dabble in design and sew from scratch.

Language. I love practising with native speakers and learners alike. I'm currently focusing on my swedish and german.

Photography. I'm learning here. Getting out by foot with a camera at hand is my favourite way to explore.
