About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To explore the world we are part of and share experiences

ABOUT ME
I’m in Mexico not Sardinia so I can’t host sorry.
@phantasiae on Instagram if you want to talk directly (but don't be creepy)

I LOVE dancing! and life is a dance...

Everyone do Vipassana!

I am a slow traveller, like to learn and experience places, and usually end up staying longer than planned.

I'm also a bit of a nomad and never seem to stay in one place longer than several months to a year.

When I'm not travelling meeting people who are travelling is a beautiful experience very often. I am a qualified yoga teacher, based on physiotherapy principles.
I love dancing of all types, especially salsa, bachata….my yoga often transforms to dancing.

I work online, digital marketing, am qualified in yoga, meditation and Thai and Ayurvedic massage.

**Not here to tinder. Couchsurfing has created some of the most beautiful and unlikely encounters of my life, both fleeting and enduring, but increasingly has become rife with exhausting unnecessary unpleasant ones. Let’s meet, and it’s not an awkward date ok.

I need to update my profile after many constantly changing years on here so I just keep adding stuff...I've had so many different life situations, mainly freelancing and travelling, mostly in Italy but also living chunks of time in Turkey, Greece and Spain. Studied philosophy and classics and a masters in arts management.

I love doing so many things that I'm unable to choose, unable to dedicate myself to one thing or even 2 when 17 others are calling in the background. I'm also constantly struggling existentially with meanings and motivations for as long as I can remember.

I like to paint, write poetry, travel, dance, play the piano and whatever else might come spontaneously with the beauty of life...

I've taught English and been an arts manager and curator, worked at MAXXI in Rome and teachign kids contemporary art. Living in Bologna, Rome, Florence...

6 months in Turkey, several months in Greece, built solar panels in Ghana and volunteered in India.

I also work with photographers on projects I like as a model.

I have had some of the most beautiful encounters of my life through Couchsurfing, have really met the best of humanity, but haven't used it so much recently as I became more solitary and needed my space.

One thing..I don't like small talk...I'm almost incapable, there is philosophy and curiosity in everything, consciousness is a big pondering of mine. I'm a little shy, but inside very confident, a little dreamy, but very direct in what's important.

I'm mostly vegan, because otherwise my conscience gives me pain, but have been known to be flexible when travelling or offered local food if vegetarian.

Just started a brand of yoga things I'm designing laroga.etsy.com

Here's my website I'm creating for my various artworks www.phantasiae.com :)

PHILOSOPHY

Well, my philosophies are evolving as I grow and experience the world. I learnt through intense vipassana meditation to observe everything equanimously...nothing in the universe is personally against you and everything bad that seems to happen is only that way because we take it so. And with that understanding underneath I feel bolder to enjoy and seek out the zest in life.

Albert Camus is pretty much what kept me going...my philosophy is absurdism and his ideas on that and suicide make a lot of sense to me :)
I hope to inspire and encourage empathy and creativity, meeting everyone and everything without strong preconceptions...
Life can hurt, a lot, but it's probably worth it...maybe.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Host and surf and meet and explore, sharing life, moments and thoughts

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

It's always been fun and interesting. It's amazing being lost or lonely in a new place but nevertheless wherever you are meeting people and making connections. Also hosting it is nice to welcome and show around surfers in a city you love.

I’ve hosted a lot more people than the references show...a couple of accounts were since deleted, one became my partner :) etc...

Interests

I like to try new things, though I also get scared to try them sometimes...
I love cooking and eating, all kinds of dancing I adore, -leroc, bellydancing, ballet, rocknroll swing, salsa, argentine tango...moving! I like to paint, music -listening and playing piano and clarinet, and I've started composing as well! I like to do yoga as often as possible, mainly Iyengar style, acroyoga, meditation as part of my life, people, literature, nature, sunlight in trees, philosophy...everything?

I also of course love travelling and exploring cultures and beautiful architecture and landscapes

Now I'm also into photography and have been modelling as a muse for photographers which comes very naturally

Music, Movies, and Books

Camus, Kundera, Kafka, Tolstoy, Hesse...just a few authors that come to mind. All kinds of music everywhere has songs I love. I like to get angsty playing Rachmaninoff and Chopin on the piano though. Movies...well the philosophical, psychological ones, the funny ones, the satirical ones, the really good old ones...i don't really remember names

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

being alive is pretty amazing...

Sea Sun Salsa festival

and Vipassana...changed my life

Teach, Learn, Share

I am a yoga and meditation teacher I can help you there!
I think cooking is something to teach and learn, everyone has their own things to cook and different cultural dishes, or just make things up, you create something delicious together and then get to share enjoying the end result!
People who can share their music with me really inspire me.

I can also share or teach about making DIY solar panels, latin, english, meditation and anything else I know

What I Can Share with Hosts

Dancing, yoga, meditation, music, acroyoga, discussions of philosophy and psychology, all the contents of my mind
