Overview
About Me
I'm a gentle person who cares for a sustainable planet and global solidarity.
In my day to day life I work as a freelance producer but am currently assessing my ambitions for a more fulfilling career aimed towards improving society and my own creativity.
That's why I'm taking a little sabbatical from May to July to contemplate on the next step in life.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Travelling is something that I started with from a young age, with long campertravels through Europe with my parents.
I had my first backpacking experience when I was just 19 and spend ten months in Australia.
During my twenties I haven't travelled as much as I wanted to but still had a couple of wonderful experiences in Egypt and Tanzania which hold my dearest memories. In 2013 I travelled in Ghana for 3 weeks which had an impressive impact on me due to the colonial history that binds the Netherlands and Ghana.
Now my long but not lost dream of visiting New Zealand is about to become reality. Experiencing a new country through the hospitality of it's citizens has enriched me as a person and I look forward to making many more global friends through this network and share good times together.
Interests
I love reading, photography and cinema, as they reflect our human lives and can provide inspiration, insights and awareness.
My favourite activities are yoga, dancing, horsebackriding, snorkelling/scuba diving and strolling in a foreign city, hiking in nature or just in the park close to my home.

Music, Movies, and Books
I can contemplate on the piano tunes of Einaudi,
space away on Bonobo, swing on soul and funk, drive and cruise on evergreens and guilty pleasures, roll on classic rock.. it's a wide range, like my moods.
That continues in movies, engaging documentaries, inspiring art house films, and good popcorn Hollywood flicks all are in my dvd collection.
My reading needs some good catching up but a couple of my all time and multiple reads involve The Bone People by keri Hulme, Trinity by Leon Uris, and The Neverending Story by Michael Ende. Currently I'm reading Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Bubbling 30 metres below surface in the red sea and in the indian ocean of Zanzibar.
Fighting my vertigo on a 40 metre high canopy walk in the jungle of Ghana.
Horseback riding in the Egyptian desert and on the slopes of mount Kilimanjaro.
(couldn't pick one of the three, ehm 5..)
Teach, Learn, Share
Open mindedness, solidarity, compassion, drink, food and laughter.
