About Me

** Please read: our house is not a hotel. We seek genuine and deep connections. If you don't feel like reading this profile and you are just searching for accommodation, please do not send a request **

I'm Mirtilla, I've been living in Rotterdam (The Netherlands) for almost four years. I'm still searching for my place in this world and, in the meantime, I work as a barista in a local breakfast place (coffee nerd alert). I'm a very cheerful person, I love to meet new people, visit new places and know different cultures. I really enjoy listening to music, watching films, going to the theatre, drinking beer and wine, petting animals, playing board games, reading books, taking pictures, hiking and a lot of other things.

I'm a Vegan and antispecist 🌱 and I love to cook, so you'll find good food at my place. Please, bring some wine 🙂
I also describe myself as a feminist, antiracist, and anticapitalist. I love to engage in discussions regarding those topic.
I am currently interested and learning about psychedelics (I am growing my own mushrooms) and polyamory, so anyone with experience in those areas is more than welcome since I have a lot to learn.

I live in a house with two other people, Greta and Isabelle. Greta is psychology student and Isabelle is a musician. We live a community life, we spend a lot of time together, and we love the idea of welcoming interesting people into our lives. We are three lovely, peaceful and open-minded human beings and we are more than happy to meet you!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love TO HOST because: I believe in community life, I love to have people around and share with them my home and my time. When someone arrives at my home I do everything to create a comfortable environment, and I love when people behave as if they were at their own house.

I love TO BE HOST because I think that most of the journey is made by the people you meet. I deeply need to create relationships because I believe that anyone has something to teach or share with me. I also love to discover hidden places that I couldn't reach by myself but only a real inhabitant of the place know.

Interests

I love photography, cinematographic culture and art in general (theatre, painting, drawings). I'm also passionate in creative reuse. I’m VEGAN and I support vegan organizations with street activism. I like to read about feminism, anticapitalism, and polyamory. I'm currently interested in psychedelics.
