ABOUT ME
I got to know about Couchsurfing from my student who travelled with generous help from fellow-couchsurfers in Europe and had the best memories about her hosts.
As for myself - I study science fiction, which brought me in contact with people all over the world, and it continues to serve a source of fascination for me wherever I go. The first country I visited besides the USSR where I was born was Denmark for me which I visited with my family - a husband and two kids then - in 1991, on an invitation of a wonderful feminist activist. Since then I have been to many countries, but mainly to various parts of the United States, as I study American culture.
If I am in Moscow I am willing to show the city to the guests though my apartment at present is not ready to accept them.

Music, Movies, and Books
Ivan Yefremov, Arthur C. Clarke, Ursula K. Le Guin - may be they are the creators that formed the coordinates for my perception. But I wouldn't say I enjoy only serious works, there are many others from various periods and countries:)
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can tell about Russian and American customs, willing to discuss any topic about science fiction. Though not a great cook, I can make some Russian dishes to give you a taste of borsch :)
