Overview
About Me
I'm currently a student working on my Master's degree in Nursing at McGill University in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. I also have two bachelors degrees, one is a Combined Major in Science in Environmental Sciences, Life Sciences, and Chemistry, and the other is in French. I earned my bachelors degrees from The University of British Columbia in Vancouver, BC, Canada, which is where I grew up.
I am a very relaxed, understanding, and open-minded person. I accept and respect ALL people as they are (as long as they are equally accepting and respectful of me) and one of my greatest joys in life is learning about life and the world from different perspectives.
I love travelling and learning about other cultures and the way different people live their lives. I will do touristy things but think that the important part of travelling is getting to know the real place and the people. In terms of getting to know people, I enjoy having deep and meaningful conversations and much prefer it to making small talk. I also love cooking, food and trying new things; I feel that food is such an integral part of any culture and that it speaks a lot to a region's history. I also enjoy learning languages, and am looking for the opportunity to practice and improve any language I am learning.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm on Couchsurfing to meet new people and to find good friends from all over. Even if I'm unable to host, I am definitely willing to meet up and get to know people wherever I am :)

Music, Movies, and Books
I really enjoy indie/folk music, but can also appreciate other genres, of course. I can generally get into just about any movie besides horror films, I am too much of a scaredy-cat for those! But some movies that have been my favourites in my life are: A Beautiful Mind, The Sound of Music, Pulp Fiction, I Am Sam, Moonrise Kingdom, 500 Days of Summer, and many others :)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Scuba diving in Colombia was as terrifying as it was amazing. As someone who is not an avid swimmer, being underwater for so long, so peacefully was such a surreal experience.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love learning about anything new and am very open to learning whatever you may have to offer! Some things I am specifically interested in, though, are learning about different cuisines and languages. I am currently learning Spanish and Portuguese and would love to improve my proficiency in both languages.
I also love helping others learn just about as much as I love learning for myself, so if there's anything I know that you are interested in learning about, such as languages, food, or even just my own culture, I would be more than happy to share :)
What I Can Share with Hosts
If you are trying to improve or learn English or French, I can definitely help you with that :) I would say that I have at least surface level knowledge about many subjects and would at least be able to offer some interesting conversation. I can help out with day-to-day chores. I am a very easy-going, respectful and receptive person and will, of course, respect any house rules you have.
