Overview
About Me
I'll make a brief description about myself, because I'm sure getting to know me in flesh is muuuch more accurate than here haha.
I'm a History student who also teaches English in Brazil and intends to go to UK in 2017 - actually, I'm still deciding between the UK or some place else in Europe. (Update: I'm going to England, Netherlands and maybe some other places such as Ireland and Scotland. Let's see!). As so, talking about History is something I enjoy and will be glad to do when meeting a host. Especially to exchange knowledge: I can give a nice class about Brazilian's History and learn more about the country I'm in through the local's experience :)
I'm fond of British culture as well as other countries' culture in general. This trip is one of my main goals for now, so I'm quite excited for it and I've been planning it for a long time. Anxiety levels are considerably high around here!
I like to get to know people unexpectedly, also people from other countries and with different cultures to share. Certainly my greatest experiences are related to meeting people by surprise. I had really nice conversation with people around the globe and that's something I'm always keen to do it. It amazes me how many cultural aspects are different, from simple daily habits to complex anthropological details...
I love English and I'm always trying to get immersed in it, in a way that my fluency gets more 'slangful' and natural as the time passes by. That's actually one of the reasons I'm choosing somewhere in UK or nearby; my dream travel has to be, at first, in an English speaking zone!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm here to be hosted by a friendly and nice person. I'm interested in meeting new people and making friends around the globe, hang out in the city and have great moments. I find the idea of the website amazing for doing that. :)
Interests
Literature, cinema, museums, beer, historical places and nature. I've never been abroad so I'll be glad to get to know the place!
I would like to spend the days as a local, mostly. I'm not fond of turistic usual programs so for me it would be waaay better to get to know a cozy/pittoresque pub or cafeteria than to go where everyone goes!

Music, Movies, and Books
I'm really, really, really into movies. Cinema is one of my greatest passions.
Some movies that are my favorites are...
- It's only the end of the world
- Arrival
- I, Daniel Blake
- Mommy
- Wild tales
- Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind
- Closer
- Room
- Still Alice
- Babadook
- Her
- Blue is the warmest color
- Amour
- Into the wild
- The visitor
- Blue Ray
- The handmaid
- Away from her
- Almodovar movies in general... haha
Well, these are the ones that came into my mind right away.
Concerning music, which I'd say is my second passion, I like rock (which goes trough sub genders like classic, metal[heavy, thrash and progressive], grunge and so on...)
Also, MPB (popular Brazilian music) and Bossa Nova. I'll be glad to share my country's music <3
I really like blues, jazz and folk too. Bob Dylan, L. Cohen...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
As a teacher I've got personal and educational achievements of which I'm really proud. The fact that I have a significant power over a child/teen's life and weight on their knowledge... it just fascinates me. Recently I had students who hated English or were very insecure of themselves. Throughout the year they overcame their own struggles, becoming stronger at what initially were their weaknesses. For that I have a big part of responsibility and because of that I feel I've done amazing things.
Also I went to such a beautiful place once and saw hundreds of fish swimming around me. That's not exactly a thing I did - all the credit is to the nature haha... but the thing is: I was truly happy right at that moment. There was I, in a heavenly pure sea, sun bathing, wearing goggles, freely swimming and feeling so much life surrounding me... That was one of the best moments of my life. Indeed, it's in the simple things we can find the greatest joy :)
Teach, Learn, Share
I can share brazilian culture as well as teach some portuguese!
As said before, I'd love to get to know more and more English and, why not, other languages too? I'm super curious about French, Dutch, German...
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm a friendly girl, sweet and very open-minded. I like meeting new people and making friends, so I can offer my friendship and show Brazilian's culture too! I'm sure it will be a great time.
