Overview
About Me
Hallöchen, my name is Larissa!
I'm a 19-year-old daydreamer, and I love traveling. I'm creative, open-minded, and spontaneous.
After graduating from high school in 2023, I lived in Sweden for 8 months as an ESC volunteer. ESC stands for the European Solidarity Corps, an EU initiative that aims to unite young people with a vision from all over Europe. The idea is to volunteer with an NGO or eco-farm in exchange for accommodation and food. The whole program aims to show participants the possibilities they have in life and strengthen their character and sense of European citizenship.
I spent my time at the ISKCON eco-farm Almviks Gard near Stockholm, which was quite a unique experience since I am not part of the religion myself. At the same time, the community where I lived is surrounded by Sweden's beautiful nature. Both the challenge of an isolating Swedish winter and being confronted with this ancient Indian religion made me reflect on myself and grow in ways I never had before.
Now I feel like I understand my place in the world a little better, but there is still so much left to learn! After satisfying my Fernweh and Wanderlust, I want to study costume design.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
After my mentally enriching volunteer service, I'm ready for some adventure and movement! That's why I've decided to travel through Europe with just a backpack and trains. Since I want to travel on a low budget and experience culture through the eyes of a local, Couchsurfing seems like a perfect match for me. I feel like this is how traveling (and living in general) should be: human, authentic, and with plenty of opportunities to connect.
