About Me

Hi there!
Who I am? A young yoga teacher from Switzerland, trying to go where life takes me. I am a very open-minded and talkative person with a mind full of ideas. Up to now, I've tried so many different things and I still have sooo many on my bucket list. (do a full Vipassana Retreat, walk the Camino de Santiago, live with Shaolin monks, learn how to surf, learn how to do gardening, live as a self-supporter... just to list a few ;))
Currently, I am back in Lucerne but I am definitely gonna move on at some point.
You wanna know where? I have absolutely no idea :) I always try to listen to my heart and to go with the flow. Let's see what life has in store for me.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love meeting new people with their own interests, cultures and ways of seeing life. It's an enrichment!
Also, I like Couchsurfing because it's not part of the capitalistic system. I love doing things for free. My personal yoga lessons as well as my one-to-one therapies don't have a fixed price. I want to make sure, that everybody, who's interested in yoga or health can afford it. Health should not depend on people's salaries. Also, I do website optimization (SEO) and copywriting for free to promote new ideas and projects of other people. In our society, all is about money. To me, this doesn't make a lot of sense. We should not help people for money but for the sake of making them happy and giving something back to the world.

Interests

When I started yoga, I didn't like it at all. I found it boring and an activity for old people who don't know what to do instead. Some years later, my mother made me meditate a bit. I found it difficult, but I felt the impact on my body, my brain and my mind. So, I joined this yoga class in my town and before I realized, what was happening, I found myself on the mat every day. Well, I also like other sports such as running (wanna finish a half marathon soon), pilates, SUP, cycling etc. I wanna learn how to surf.
In general, I am interested in so many things. I enjoy talking and high quality discussions so much - be it about spirituality, religions, philosophy, politics, economics, maths, statistics or something else. I love numbers but I also enjoy languages. As you see: I am open to a wide range of topics.
As much as I love talking, I love the silence. From time to time I join silent retreats where I can recharge fully.

Music, Movies, and Books

music:
I love music but, I actually don't have a real music preference. To be honest, I am just listening to what my sister shows me - very independent hahaha
She often asks me: Hey Larissa, do you know this song?
& as she looks into my face, she has to laugh so much cause she asks herself:
Why did I even ask her? hahahah
As you see: I have no idea but I do enjoy music very much ;)

favourite books:
five regrets of the dying
the alchemist
eleven minutes
teach us to sit still
the why café
21 lessons for the 21st century

favourite series: the society & when they see us

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia I booked a flight to Kuala Lumpur. I had all my luggage with me (it was not that much but still I had some) because I worked in Kudat for two months. I didn't realize that I booked a flight where you can NOT add any luggage, only a small hand luggage. Instead of booking a new flight, I felt like reducing my luggage. Therefore, I went to donate almost all my clothes and gave a lot of things to my new friends in Kota Kinabalu. It felt as if I was a free supermarket haha Finally, I travelled with my very small backpack and I absolutely loved it! The simple life is the good life :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I love exchanging languages because if you can speak a person's language, it completely changes thte way you're connecting. Also, I enjoy teaching people German or other languages I speak.
In addition, I can teach you yoga or meditation for free and I can give you a free Reiki or fascia therapy session (helps for proper alignment, releases pain & is just amazing experience)
Also, I work as a journalist so if you have an exciting story to tell, I can maybe manage to publish something about you. We can work on that ;)

What I've learned from hosts up to now:
- How to eat Durian the right way
- Chinese painting
- How to speak Malay
