About Me
ABOUT ME
It is hard to define oneself if this person has the feeling of being - fortunately - in constant change.
I have been living in many places in Florianopolis Island since 2003, but I already experienced life in some other cities in Brazil as João Pessoa, São Paulo, São José dos Campos -and spent some time in Leiden, in the Netherlands, as well. I am living for six months in New Haven, CT. What is certainly positive about living in different places is that I have good friends all over these cities and yet I am always ready to make a new one. I am a little shy and usually my thick black glasses make people think I am a serious person - which may be a mistake - in what consists 75% of what I am. I am the kind of person who likes to hear what people have to say, because I believe they may have something interesting to add about life and one can always learn something being a good listener. Despite being a little quiet, sometimes I can also be very talkative - especially when I am sure I've made a new friend. Another important aspect about me is that I cannot imagine how life would be if one could not make jokes with that - even in the worst situations - and not find ways to have fun, definitely with some beer and good music.
PHILOSOPHY
Once my childhood best friend – maybe the wisest I ever had – said something I always try to keep in mind: one day you’ll be able to laugh about what is happening now. It works 98% of the times.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I was hosted three times, in London, Brussels and in Porto Alegre and all the experiences I had were wonderful. I also met some interesting people with CS, either in CS meetings or showing people around – when living in Floripa - and made some good friends with that. I still did not host anybody, but certainly my home in Florianópolis will be a nice place for you to surf in as soon as I come back to Brazil.

Literature, music (alternative rock, jazz, samba, Brazilian popular music), theater, cinema, comic books (especially the ones by Joe Sacco - the Palestinian series -, but also Mauss and Persepolis), cooking, tasting new recipes, swimming, cycling, tracking, breathing fresh air.

Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you Portuguese if you want and how to make rice as my grandmother used to. Currently, I am learning a “more realistic” English and I am sure you could help me to improve my skills.
