ABOUT ME

I am a very active and social person. I love people and sports and being outdoors. My favorite moments in the day, however, are when I'm trying something completely new and different, whether it's an activity or meeting a new person. Eating and drinking isn't a bad way to pass the time either....I began traveling at a very early age with my family, but have turned it into a lifelong mission to keep my travel bug alive and healthy. I sailed around the world two years ago for a study abroad program and since then, I'm addicted to visiting new places and meeting new people!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am definitely a people person. I love meeting new people and finding a connection with them right away. I'm one of those people who will just walk up to you because I find we may have something in common, and before you know it, we are friends. I make friends fast in airplanes, buses and trains because especially when traveling, it seems the world is smaller when you meet people. There's always similarites between humans, even if we've grown up in other places and in different cultures. My favorite part when travling is making friends through differences.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I would love to particiapate!! I'm backpacking through Europe right now, and I hear this is the best way to do it. I want to meet locals and do what they do. I am not a tourist, but a traveler and want to start acting more like one.

Interests

I love people, watching/playing sports (especially watching college football), trying new food, the sun, music, my family, taking pictures, my dog, running marathons, being creative, cooking, drinking wine and pretending I'm a connoisseur.... I've been inspired by traveling from an early age, and since my big sail around the world 2 years ago, I've become very open to just plain trying to embrace every moment I have on Earth.

Music, Movies, and Books

I hate to sound generic, but I like pretty much everything in movies. Down for the action flicks, the romantic comedies, the dramas, the silly humor, the scaries and so on. I tend to forget what happens in movies I see, but I always rememeber whether I liked the movie or not. Same with music, I'm completely open to anything. However, I tend to stray toward Jack Johnson when on my own, country music when I'm with my mom and friends, the classics with my dad, and the dance stuff with my girls. Books, give me a good novel. I'm one to ask around from friends to see what their favorites were. Oh, and I kind of love the Twilight Series....

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Skydiving. I got pushed out of the plane because I was scared, but I fell into a new mentality. I can really do anything I set my mind to, even if I need a little support on the way.

Teach, Learn, Share

Just do it. Nike said it, but I'd like to think I live it. Try it out, because as long as it doesn't hurt you, you'll learn from it and probably create new opportunities for yourself for the future.
