CURRENT MISSION

My mission is to find ways not to grow up. So far I've been quite successful.

ABOUT ME

I'm a special education teacher by training. I've taught students from age 3 to adult and from moderately mentally handicapped to gifted. I'm also and always a professional student. I love to learn, which shows in my teaching. I dabble in many arts, both visual and performing. I'm a linguist, meaning I enjoy studying language as a phenomenon and learning new languages.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Since I've hosted 3 foreign exchange students and loved the experience, I figure hosting short term guests would be a lot of fun. Not that Champaign-Urbana is a tourist's hot spot, but I'd be worth the detour between somewhere else and Chicago!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I met Jizhi Wang and his wife in Beijing. They gave took us to lunch (Beijing duck, yum!) and then shopping at the Silk Market. We spent a lovely afternoon together.

I saw the total solar eclipse in March, 1970. I was 11. Way cool!
