Wow, perhaps I should ask my best friends. But at a guess - they'd say adventurous, independent and just a little bit different.

PHILOSOPHY

Well, it isn't exactly a personal philosophy - but I love this poem (though in my mind, I always see the last line differently an so have written that also):

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

To date I have stayed in London, Cambridge, Leeds, Copenhagen, Florence and Kudat (on Borneo), Brussels and New Mexico, USA with couchsurfing hosts and have thoroughly enjoyed the experience. In fact, I often find myself planning my travels as much for people I want to meet as the places I want to see.

Interests

Obviously, I enjoy travel. I am also quite a keen reader, enjoy movies, music and live theatre (drama, musicals, opera, and ballet). I enjoy cycling - though more of a casual ride than the tour de france! I love dancing even though I don't get to do it nearly often enough. During the summer I spend a great deal of time at the Colorado Renaissance Festival and have traveled to faires out of state (and as pictured in my photo - I do dress for the occasion). Other hobbies include needlework, weaving, glassblowing and an absolute passion for creating new and different flavours of chocolates!

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies - most anything: old, foreign, comedy, science fiction. Not much of a fan or horror any longer (I was when I was 13 - but I don't really enjoy these films any more).

Books - primarily I read science-fiction and fantasy.

Music - I enjoy most types of music, though I am not too fond of country or rap. My collection contains gothic/industrial, classical, big band swing, opera, new age, new wave (80s), oldies from the 50s & 60s, some jazz and just about everything else.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I obtained my motorcycle license - even after I dropped the bike on my foot and damaged my ankle. Being on the back of a scooter going around the Coliseum in Rome on the way to get pizza was amazing! Diving with manta rays off Thailand. Just so many cool things - and so much more to do!

Teach, Learn, Share

I really love meeting people with a sense of adventure - they continue to inspire me not to slip back into my old quiet and shy self!

I feel that I'm a fairly decent conversationalist with a few travel stories to tell!
