Overview
About Me
Hey there,
I'm Lars from Germany. In June 2016 I finish high school in my hometown Würzburg and decided not to start studying at a university immediately but to take a gap year to do all the things you can't do as a student. One of the things I really want to do in my gap year is traveling. But rather than going to fancy hotels and tourist attractions I decided to travel on my own and try hitch hiking.
I'm interested in many things especially sports, music and just talking about stuff. I love to discover new things and I would like to spend some time with a host if we get along well. On the other hand this is a trip I'm doing just on my own and for me. So I'm really independent and have no problem with leaving a host early etc.
This is my first time couchsurfing so I'm not quite sure how everything works. But still I hope to get to know nice people in this community and have a great time with my hosts.
I promise to treat everybody with respect and try to be a guest just like I would like my guest to be if I was a host.
PHILOSOPHY
It's nice to be important but it's more important to be nice.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I think that couchsurfing is a great option for me (and everyone) to find places to stay in different cities but even more I consider couchsurfing as a perfect way to get to know interesting people, make friends with strangers and get a new view on the culture and the personalities of other countries.

Music, Movies, and Books
My taste of music is very situational and depending of my mood. But I would consider ALT-J, BLINK 182 and LOUIS ARMSTRONG as my favorite musicians/bands.
I mostly like dramatic movies with unexpected plot twists so you don't know the ending of a film by the beginning. I absolutely love SHATTER ISLAND, GLADIATOR and all the HARRY POTTER movies since I just grew up with them.
I was never a great reader but amongst the few books I really like are definetly the thrillers from GRAHAM BROWN. By the way I absolutely hated FAUST by GOETHE which we had to read in school :-)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Climbing up the Dreitorspitze in Austria and seeing the band of the milkyway with my own eyes for the first time.
Holding on to a fence at the airport of St. Maarten with a jumbo jet just 15 m above my head.
Staying up 48 hours straight and having the best party ever without even one glass of alcohol. (sleep deprivation has pretty much the same effect as alcohol :-))
Causing a blackout in a beer tent in Bavaria while I was trying to fix a broken light bulb.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you: German, how to play volleyball and how to ski, some basic chords on the guitar and how to solve the rubiks cube :-)
You can teach me: some better guitar skills, cooking and pretty much anything that is usefull and/or makes fun
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm willing to share anything with my host. But since I'm just traveling with my backpack I guess there are not many material things I can offer. But I'm looking forward to offer my help and my skills to any host and hopefully share a lot of amazing moments and interesting talks with my hosts.
