About Me
CURRENT MISSION
As a citizen of the world to do my part to help bring a little joy into the lives of those I encounter. If I get a little back in return that is a double word score!
ABOUT ME
My life is simply about the acquisition of experiences and not possessions. To see and do and learn and interact are the greatest joys there are. Although I do have my personal beliefs I am very open to discussing and considering other views in that I may be able to grow as a person. I love music, sport and travel (not necessarily in that order). I enjoy a good beer, a good cup of coffee, and having someone(s) enjoyable with whom to share them.
PHILOSOPHY
We are only on this earth for a short time and we have the opportunity to make choices as to how to spend our days. I choose to live life on my own terms by enjoying beauty, showing compassion, learning constantly, and sharing happiness with others. My personal faith dictates that my two greatest admonitions are to love - my Godhead first, and then my fellow human. I choose to show my love to others through friendship and service,
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am still new to this community but my primary focus is to be an ambassador of goodwill to the world for my community, my state and my country. I see hosting as more than providing a place to stay...I see my duty as helping make others' visits to my region as memorable. From this I want to build a worldwide network of lifelong friendships. Every guest should leave my home feeling enriched by surfing at my place!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have now hosted over a dozen parties (individuals, groups or families) and have not had any one of which was less than an amazing experience for me. The people that are attracted to the CS community have more in mind than just a cheap place to stay; they truly buy into the credo of making the world a better place. I have grown so much from my experiences with the folks who have passed through and shared their experiences with me!
Interests
I am interested in geography and history...I am a sucker for any map or historical marker! I like being exposed to new music, and my tastes are eclectic. I love seeing live music shows and am growing an appreciation for the legitimate theater.
My favorite activities are exploring new places and playing in organized trivia contests at local watering holes.

Music, Movies, and Books
My musical tastes run the gamut. I don't care much for Hip Hop/Rap and I have a short capacity for Country/Western. I have music playing constantly...anything from Classic Rock to Alternative to Smooth Jazz. I am not much for movies...I prefer stand up comedy. I love to laugh!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
My recent two week whirlwind tour through Europe was both an amazing exercise in detailed planning and experiential bombardment. We went and saw and did so many things in one fortnight that pinpointing one amazing thing is tough, but I would say that standing in the middle of the Sistine Chapel was about as awe inspired as I have been in my lifetime.
Teach, Learn, Share
Teaching and learning are among my favorite things. First and foremost I want to teach about my hometown and make my guests feel knowledgeable about the place they are visiting. I know my way around a computer pretty well and am always ready to teach a few tricks about using a PC. I have a strong affinity for Europe and Europeans and would love to be able to strengthen my usage of languages by conversing in foreign language as well as English. I also know how to make a wicked espesso and a lively home brewed beer!
