ABOUT ME
README
I've been getting more than a dozen couch requests per week and it's becoming overwhelming. Many new members seem to be treating this site like a free hotel; so I'm unfortunately going to have to screen people out a bit more aggressively. In your couch request you must state clearly that you have a sleeping pad, bag, pillow and towel. Thank you.
I hope that opener doesn't turn everyone away, because I really do love to host. I'm a geeky geek with a forever love of science and electronics. I love my job (software engineer) and I spend entirely too much time working. When I can pull myself away I like to take my bike out for long rides and meet up with friends for beer.
PHILOSOPHY
Pay it forward.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I surf and host.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I spent a year bicycle touring around the USA, in that period I stayed in about 100 campgrounds and about 50 strangers homes. It was fantastic, one of the best experiences of my life. Some of my couchsurfing was planned, a lot of it was people spontaneously offering me a place to stay.
Since getting home I have had the chance to host a few times and it has been really fun. I've been delighted by all of my guests so far and it is a great motivator to keep planning my own adventures.
*There is a different hospitality site that is unique to bicycle tourists, if you are bicycle touring I'd be happy to direct you there.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like all kinds of movies, big budget action movies and obscure foreign films, I'm a sucker for a good story. I haven't read very much in the last year, but Snow Crash is a favorite of mine.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Tandem bicycling the perimeter of the US was pretty cool.
Teach, Learn, Share
I double majored in math and physics with a minor in astronomy; I find all of those subjects fascinating and tutored extensively in college. My explanation of the universe only takes about 2 hours these days :)
