About Me

Currently living abroad in Amsterdam as a volunteer.

Besides that I have lived in Aarhus, Denmark, for all my life. I love to go on walks and biking. Especially in the summertime. Sometimes I bring my camera. It is mostly nature and city photography I do. And it's only for fun really. I'm not in any way a professional, but maybe I will be someday (fingers crossed). Going on a walk gives me time to reflect and think over my life and it's just a nice way to take a little break from everyday life in the city.

Other things I love is movies and music, yeah I know really original. I have loved movies for as far back as I can remember. Even when I was a little kid, about 8-years old, I wanted to be a movie director. Music is just a constant in my life. More a listener than a player of music. I have played a little bit of piano, and I can still play a little bit but I'm frankly out of practice. If only I had more hours in the day.

That was a bit of text but hopefully you got a bit of a better idea about who I am.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Experiences means more to me than materiel goods. That's why I have made the decision to travel more in my life. To challenge myself in the way of meeting new people and engage with other cultures. But traveling abroad can be expensive and it would be a shame to let financial barriers prohibit me from experiencing all the amazing sights and sounds of the world. That's why I'm on couchsurfing. It seems like a great opportunity to meet new people. And I just think it's a cool concept. I might be open for accepting guests in the future but since I'm still new om couchsurfing I would like to at least try it once to see what it is about.

Music, Movies, and Books

There are so many I love that it's difficult to narrow it down so I'm just going to list some of my favorite movies:

Sideways, A Woman Under the Influence, multiple Stanley Kubrick movies (Clockwork Orange, Dr. Strangelove and The Shining being some of my favorites), David Lynch ( I love Twin Peaks, more the original first two seasons, + Mulholland Drive), Steven Spielberg (Raiders of the Lost Ark, Jaws, E.T. etc.), The Goonies, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Heat, Leon the Professional (Luc Besson's best work), Quentin Tarantino (Inglourious Basterds, Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill 1+2 etc.) and the list goes on and on.

My taste in music is super broad in the sense that it really depends on the day and the mood. But I probably listen to a lot of synthwave, rock, jazz and indie-rock. Again it really depends on my mood.

Books. I want to read more books. I finished reading The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho earlier this year and right now I'm reading Norwegian Wood by Haruki Murakami. After that I'm probably going to read The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams. Reading more books is also one of my goals.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm down to earth and polite. I live after the treat others as you would like to get treated rule. So I believe in meeting other people with respect and kindness.
